5 /5 Jack Stepro: If youre downtown on Bay Street in Savanah, you should walk on the elevated walkways and then go down the historic steps to the shops on the Riverfront! The steps are old and steep! Hang onto the railings and go for it!

4 /5 Gary Pearce: Rate a set of stairs? OK. First, there are several of them around the river area, and Im not sure which ones Im rating. They Might Be Giants. The memorable one was the one with really tall steps. Im not a civil engineer, so I dont know what is involved in designing a staircase. I guess you have a certain elevation to cover at a certain angle, and if you want a straight staircase (not circular or switchback), youre kind of locked into how high each step can be if theyre going to be deep enough for your whole foot. In this case, really tall. Pictures dont do them justice. Other people climbing those stairs remarked on it. I guess Im glad they kept this history and didnt just replace it with something more modern (options are available nearby). Thats kind of the story of Savannah - it took some effort to preserve the history, and Im glad someone did.

Savannah Childrens Museum - Savannah

Courtney Gfroerer: This place is incredible. It is definitely different than any other children’s museum we’ve been to, but in a good way. It’s all outdoors. There is a walk from parking but you get to see the trains without having to pay train museum admission (which was sufficient for my toddler lol). When we visited, there was a water table, sand kitchen and garden that my kiddos particularly loved. We stayed around 2 hours and basically had to drag my kid out - he would have stayed in the sand kitchen forever. It is smaller and I think geared more towards younger kids, but if that what you have then they’ll LOVE it. I could see us coming back again if we were in the area. It was only April and warm - I am sure it gets HOT in the summer as there is minimal shade and it’s all outdoors. Bring your own water bottles - there are vending machines but they were sold out of all drinks when we went and they do have fountains to fill bottles.

Savannah Historic District - Savannah

Tim levasseur: Outstanding. The city is easily navigated through streets of historic homes, parks, and hundreds of shops and restaurants featuring cultural and regional fare. Well Worth the trip to walk the city or buy a “hop on-hop off” trolley ticket!

River Street Savannah Georgia - Savannah

Natalie: Fun tourist area, many restaurants and bars to choose from. The area is full of souvenir shops. Nice walk along the water. Lots of steep old stairs to navigate and the streets are brick and cobblestone so choose footwear wisely.

Chippewa Square -

Julie ZL: Chippewa Square is a charming spot in Savannah, easily recognizable for its connection to Forrest Gump. While the iconic bench from the movie isnt here (its housed in the Savannah History Museum), the square itself is lovely and worth a visit. Its a perfect place to sit, relax under the oaks, and soak in the Savannah atmosphere, imagining Forrest waiting for his bus. A cute piece of cinematic history in a beautiful setting.

Otherwise enjoy the air condition if you have 15 minutes and pop in to hear an advertisement for SCAD. Does include a cool wind scene. Ps. I did love seeing all the art inside and the shop was cute

Savannah History Museum - Savannah

Matt Walton: I took my son in late January and we really enjoyed ourselves. The tour guide, Patrick, was very knowledgeable and helpful. We really appreciated the time he took to discuss the diorama for the Revolutionary War battle that took place on the site of the present day museum. I would recommend the museum to anyone looking for a rainy day activity or if you want to learn more about the rich history of Savannah.

The Old Sorrel-Weed House Museum & Tours - Savannah

Kate Rodionova: Came here for a dark history/ghost tour which unfortunately was quite underwhelming. Our guide was friendly, but I was hoping the tour would be more historic. I missed the good storytelling and historic facts, it felt more like a sleepover in middle school were you try to tell each other scary stories. I assume the historic tour of the house would havr been a better choice

Shelly S: Boo! Sign up and payment online was fast and easy. The driver/tour guide was at the meeting place early. The whole family enjoyed this interesting and spooky stories tour! The driver/tour guide was very fun and interactive, our group was pre teen to older adults and everyone had fun!

Savannah Ogeechee Canal Museum and Nature Center - Savannah

Renaissanczyk: This is a beautiful sanctuary and near Nine Line Apparel and Black Rifle Coffee. Definitely check it out. Many things are pointed out and captured with complimentary signage which is nice when wondering what you are looking at. Also, the trails are well kept. Currently, April timeframe, it is caterpillar rich! You will find bundles up on bundles of them!
