1 /5 Cc Chapman: I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Ulta. Upon entering the store, I was not greeted—odd, considering several employees were standing around chatting. I knew what I was there to purchase, so I didn’t need much assistance until I noticed one item was out of stock on the sales floor, despite being listed online as available in-store.
When I approached two associates who were chatting with a friend, one of them, a gentleman, made it clear he was agitated by my request for help. I had just recovered from bronchitis, so my voice wasn’t at its best, but I politely asked if he could assist me in locating the concealer. His attitude was dismissive and unfriendly from the start. After searching, he informed me that only two other shades were available in back stock but not the one I needed.
I then asked if those shades were on the sales floor so I could test them as potential matches. His response? A curt, “I don’t know,” followed by walking off to continue his conversation with his friend.
Feeling dismissed and undervalued as a customer, I decided to leave and put back over $200 worth of products I had planned to purchase. For the prices Ulta charges, the customer service should at least be professional and respectful.
If you value your time and hard-earned money, I’d recommend shopping elsewhere—at a store that will treat you with the respect you deserve.
