1 /5 Yui Young: A friend and I decided to get pedicures today and even joked about how any nail shop should be fine, since we both wanted basic pedicures with gel polish. We went to Sun Nails since it was conveniently located next to Target. When we arrived we were immediately directed ti sit in the pedicure chairs. We each had male nail techs that got to work right away. I selected my gel polish color and my tech began removing my previous gel polish using a drill. I was a little concerned about the integrity of my toes nails as he made many passes on each nail with the drill, but I let it slide. I asked him to just file each one a little to keep my length and he completely changed the shape rounding out all the corners. When it was time to apply my polish, I noticed right away that the shade of pink was no what I wanted. I asked to see the samples and put it next to the polished toe to show him that it was nowhere near the color I desired. I could tell he was annoyed as the number on the polish bottle matched the number next to the shade I selected, but it was not the same color. To ease his frustration, I asked him to just paint them white. As he finished the first foot, I noticed that his polish technique was a bit sloppy. I sat patiently to wait and see if he would go back and clean up his work. After the second coat, I pointed out that the polish was not smooth and had dips and dents. He dismissed me and said he would fix it. Before apply a top coat to my second foot, he filed over my right big toe, in an attempt to smooth it out, and proceeded to apply another coat of white before topping it off. He seemed to be in a rush and I was annoyed at this point of my concerns being dismissed, so I just let him finish so we could leave.
As we were paying, I noticed that both nail techs rushed over to other customers waiting to have their nails done. I attempted to offer the male checking us out feedback, but since he didnt speak much English he directed me to a woman. She came over and I explained that we wouldnt have minded waiting when we arrived if they were going to rush through our pedicures. The experience for us was bad business. We both pointed out the sloppy polish work and she tried to say it was the polish and our nails, not her techs fault. She was very dismissive and at that point we were both ready to get out of there, so we paid and left. The attached photos are from later today. My right toe polish has already lifted. :/ Not happy at all, but we still left a 20% tip. What a waste of $55 and our time. I hope the workers see this and do better for the next customer. 10/10 would NOT RECOMMEND!
