They had wonderful costumed tour guides that give you fun and interesting history facts while you walk around the home. They had live music and their gift shop is amazing! Every year they have an open house the first weekend of December!!!

Brian Lawson: What an amazing experience. Great museum dedicated to a pioneer in her own right for the sacrifices she made to educate young Black kids. When I got there, the museum was closed, but call the number on the front door, and a young lady will come and let you in. The military discount is $5.00. Theres a 10-minute film that talks about her life and the many contributions she made in the education field. Must see if youre visiting Augusta

Katrina Hoyle: Beautiful scenery and full of history you can feel. Quiet area below the canal, with a few "artifacts" and remnants of structures. Be mindful of the businesses and residents there when you visit. Walking up to the canal is also a treat. Steady foot traffic of those getting exercise and taking in the scenery or air. Do keep an eye out for the population that calls under the bridges "home". Havent had a negative experience, but I also respect space.
