5 /5 Scott Thomsen: Went on a Friday afternoon with my wife. The tour and questions took a little more than an hour but we were going at a slow pace (as we had many questions) The staff volunteer was very welcoming and talked to us about the property before the tour. The tour was very casual with a lot of history of the property and the occupants. The staff member answered all questions and clarified things we did not understand.
Its a beautiful property and worth a visit for an hour or slightly longer. There is repair work occurring on the property which I would say added to the value of the tour. We got to see behind the plaster walls and see the construction of the walls at some point. The rough cut wood with plaster and horse hair. The later construction with a mesh over brick then layered with plaster.
The furniture is not unique to the property but it all has a story and is historic in and of itself.
The loom and spinning wheel in the lower level as a gift from the phinizys was very interesting with the spinning wheel operational and the loom having plans to restore and bring operational, Amazing.
The inside is air conditioned for the comfort of the artifacts but it wasnt bad for patrons as well. Wonderful time.
