  • Augusta Canal National Heritage Area - Augusta
    Augusta Canal National Heritage Area
Katrina Hoyle: Beautiful scenery and full of history you can feel. Quiet area below the canal, with a few "artifacts" and remnants of structures. Be mindful of the businesses and residents there when you visit. Walking up to the canal is also a treat. Steady foot traffic of those getting exercise and taking in the scenery or air. Do keep an eye out for the population that calls under the bridges "home". Havent had a negative experience, but I also respect space.
    Monkey Island -
Dawn Cooley: Monkey Island is an island in Georgia with golf courses, vacation resorts, a winery, restaurants, etc. We spent spring break there. It was very quiet and relaxing! There is no wait or admission costs other than the resort rental.

E V 1: Greeted as we entered by a volunteer and welcomed. Offered a cupcake since it was President Wilson’s birthday was a nice surprise. Another volunteer Gene, provided an accurate picture of the era along with interesting facts about President Woodrow Wilson’s childhood and family life.

Nitro Extreme Motor Stunt Show - Augusta

    Wildwood Park - appling
Tessie Lynn Riggenbach: Wildwood is a very nice place,we celebrated my grandsons 9th birthday. There were grills picnic tables lots of swimming area, and a playground.
    Minnick Park -
    Minnick Park
Stephen Seward: This park is popular with local residents. Every time Ive stopped by or driven by, I see families using the pavilion & kids playing. Too bad its in a poor part of the City & not maintained. Grass has been this high for more than 2 weeks! (see photo) In comparison, MM Scott Park is in an upscale neighborhood. The difference is striking!! Notice the basketball court at MM Scott: has a protective painted coating, fence in in great condition. Its the opposite at Minnick Park. Would have rated Minnick Park at 5 stars if the City maintained it because of its popularity & use by nearby residents. Minnick is probably forgotten (Location?) but why should it be?
