5 /5 Brian Leohner: Awesome community park with cute little waterfall and stream and covered bridge. My kids love playing the stream here, looking for rocks and critters. Has a playground, picnic area, and and amphitheater too.

5 /5 J.C. Wren: A nice quiet dog friendly park with several pavilions, an amphitheatre, 2 sets of restrooms (!), playground, and plenty of parking. The small creek and its waterfall are attractive and are good for wading in by both dogs and humans. I suppose you could also take your cat there, but results may vary. The park is clean and nicely kept. We and our dog had a pleasant picnic lunch and then strolled around. Well be going back for sure.

The covered bridge is cute with a beautiful Creek that runs through the whole park. The play grounds, tennis court, picnic pavilion, and mini amphitheater are in excellent condition. Wish I had a park like this at home.

Tugaloo Bend Park - Toccoa

Brian Schuster: Very cool historic site. Several ( level ) trails that travel thru Cherokee and Creek Indian villages ( remnants long gone ) Its a fun look at local history and its also free ! Nice pavilion and clean bathrooms near the parking area. WARNING : Some trails pass thru rather " buggy" areas and mosquito spray is a must.

Toccoa Train Trestle - Toccoa

Travis Fuhrman: I believe they may have to take off Google maps as a viewing platform due to new landowners who have definitely marked a walking path towards the trestle as private property and it appears those residents in this tucked away neighborhood have gotten the township to put up No Parking signs. I got out of my truck to take a couple quick picks of the viaduct and jumped back in because of the signage. It’s a shame as this is a marvel of engineering of yester years and still is standing and is in use to carry trains over the North Broad River. It’s 1500’ long, 202’ feet high and was reconstructed into two tracks and what you see today in 1915-1919.

Providence Canyon State Park - Lumpkin

HJ Cox: Having visited the Grand Canyon and Bryce Canyon, I know this canyon can’t really compare—but it has its own unique charm and stunning scenery. The blend of red and white tones is absolutely beautiful. We couldn’t find the trail that leads down into the canyon, which was a bit disappointing, but the hike itself was amazing. You can park just past the gate and enjoy the view or take photos right away, but I highly recommend doing the hike. The trail is incredible. Be sure to wear waterproof hiking shoes and long pants—you’ll be walking on a muddy trail for quite a while. My husband and I wore regular sneakers, thinking it would be an easy hike, and our shoes got completely soaked. Also, don’t forget to watch out for snakes—we saw a black one on the trail. It was a little over a 4hour drive to get there, but totally worth it. I’d love to visit again someday if I get the chance. There’s a $5 entrance fee per car, and a visitor center where you can buy snacks or small souvenirs.

Kitty Thomas: We had a wonderful time at Pigtail Alley yesterday, historic Lumpkin is absolutely beautiful, quiet, and friendly. The weather was the only downside, Georgia in August is very unforgiving. We made to sure to bring lots of water and sweet tea.

Sprewell Bluff Park - Thomaston

Hiker Shirl: Sprewell Bluff Park, Upton County, GA This is a beautiful county park on bluffs that overlook the Flint River. There are 3 RV sites w/ water & electric. There are cabins and several tent sites. The bathroom is clean and has a code entry . There are showers and an electrical outlet for a blowdryer or phone charger. There are several hiking trails in the pines, one with river views.

Some sites are ADA compliant with concrete surfaces and thoughtful arrangements of sidewalks for wheel chair accommodations. Ice and Firewood available from campground host for a fee. Bathrooms are newly renovated and VERY clean. Trees are well trimmed. Plenty of green / grassy areas and several playgrounds within the park - one in near the fire tower another larger playground near teh office. Two lakes available for fishing. Pontoon paddle boats available for rent. Small store. The nearby historic site for the A.H. Stephens home and museum is a nice site and worth a visit. Civil War Museum - Crawfordville

danwoodcock: A réal interesting museum and house of the Alexander Stephens, the Vice President of the confederacy. The artifacts are fascinating and the house is beautiful furnished with several original articles. A very knowledgeable and friendly curator park ranger. I very much enjoyed the museum and house.
