This is a beautiful county park on bluffs that overlook the Flint River. There are 3 RV sites w/ water & electric. There are cabins and several tent sites. The bathroom is clean and has a code entry . There are showers and an electrical outlet for a blowdryer or phone charger.
There are several hiking trails in the pines, one with river views.

Site # 11 is actually a pull thru with a spacious concrete slab near the bathhouse and group pavilion. The non-equestrian area for RVs and tents is near the fire tower and has been recently renovated with all new pedestals, nicely arranged mostly pull-thru sites with well leveled gravel surfaces. Some sites are ADA compliant with concrete surfaces and thoughtful arrangements of sidewalks for wheel chair accommodations. Ice and Firewood available from campground host for a fee. Bathrooms are newly renovated and VERY clean. Trees are well trimmed. Plenty of green / grassy areas and several playgrounds within the park - one in near the fire tower another larger playground near teh office. Two lakes available for fishing. Pontoon paddle boats available for rent. Small store. The nearby historic site for the A.H. Stephens home and museum is a nice site and worth a visit. Due to renovations, my Impressions changed from Nice in 09/2020 to Preferred campground 04/2025.

Lapham-Patterson House Historic Site - Thomasville Mary Palacios: Mike was absolutely wonderful, he truly enjoys the history of the house and explains the history of it clearly and enthusiastically! Answered all of our questions, we really enjoyed him and the house is very … unique, you will leave there with more questions if you pay attention to the details and if you listen to what Mike tells you ! I had a wonderful time, I’m coming back !!
