Rhonda Evelyn Braces Braces convington give the WORST customer service. My son missed his appointment on 4-28 and the reschedule is almost a month away. The amount of time they cancelled appointments we had scheduled way in advance. I was very accommodating and understanding, even when I drove all the way there to be told the doctor can’t see anymore patients. They even recently cancelled my son’s appointment the morning of the appointment, telling me that all the staff is sick. Do I look stupid, y’all need TO DO BETTER. Horrible service and very inconsiderate. And then to top it off, I asked to be seen at another location and was told, I can’t change location because of treatment. That’s some bull.

Staff was fantastic—thorough, gentle, and took the time to explain every step of the process. Bey P I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at this office. I was scheduled for an 8:30 AM appointment to have my braces removed, arrived on time, and waited about 10–15 minutes before being told that my permanent retainer, which goes behind my teeth, hadn’t arrived yet. Instead of notifying me beforehand, they waited until I was already there to tell me and asked if I could come back later in the afternoon—something I couldn’t do due to work and transportation issues. On top of that, my in-office retainer took 45 minutes to an hour to make, meaning I wouldn’t have been able to leave until around 11 AM. All this wasted time, just to STILL not have everything done and now having to schedule yet another visit to get my permanent retainer installed. The manager never once came out to apologize for the inconvenience, which made the experience even more frustrating. This office used to run much more smoothly under the previous orthodontist. Since new management took over, the service has become unorganized and unprofessional. I’m just relieved that my braces are coming off so I won’t have to deal with this office anymore. Would not recommend.

Lily Days As several other reviewers mentioned, Dr. Zerita Buchanan seems to recommend services that are usually not necessary, highly expensive, and are not covered by insurance. She suggested I spend thousands of dollars here, something no other dentists have ever told or recommended me. In addition, I can clearly observe many of the high-rated reviews here come from prior connections, family members, and family friends/associates. This is important to consider when thinking of the validity of experiences and potential bias. While I respect her professionalism, the customer service could improve in my experiences, especially in terms of communication and accessibility of the dentist. This creates an environment of skepticism regarding reliability and trustworthiness when coming here. Furthermore, I fail to understand why they keep the door locked during operating hours when customers need to come in.

Pollack, DDS and Team members were all on board with excellent patient service. My experience was painless, smooth and upon average dentistry. If you need a dental surgery team call their office. Kathy Perry This was my first cleaning at this dental office. Melissa was very welcoming and gentle. She took her time and went over all the X-rays and showed me the correct way to floss and brush. Even the photos were helpful to understand the difference between stains and cavities. I would definitely recommend this office to family and friends!

Spruillgirl14 A Grade A experience. Starting first with the Office Manager, Sheryl. Very personable and communicative. Warm on the phone and even more so in person--genuinely kind and clearly and simply informed of the process for treatment. Next, Dental Hygienist, Melissa. Her singing was enchanting--completely eased my stress! We just hit it off well! Now on to the X-rays and cleaning. She was great with placement if the bitewings for the X-rays. Nothing hurt! She listened to my concerns regarding my sensitive teeth. I walked away with the most thorough cleaning which included deep-scaling. She covered every cm of my teeth and gums--no shortcuts with Melissa. Finished with photos of each tooth and handed me over to Dr. Gowasack. Dr. Gowasack has a relaxed disposition which made me feel comfortable. He talked to me--not at me. Asked if I had any concerns and addressed them. He was diligent about educating me on my condition of my teeth and offered suggestions with options. Worth noting is that there was a feeling of camaraderie and respect among the team. You cant fake that! Im looking forward to my next visit to get a new permanent crown installed using more flexible material. I left the office feeling 100% satisfied, unlike my previous visits with chain dental centers.

I really hate change and that’s the only reason I continued to go! His turn over rate with staff is horrible and now I see why! Lakisha Harris I’m a fairly new patient and I’ve had 3 visits thus far. The staff seem nice and on my last visit I finally got a chance to meet Dr. Wolf. During my most recent visit I did the Zoom whitening and it was not at all pleasurable. The assistant walked me through everything step by step; however, the experience was definitely something I would never do again! I personally experienced a lot burning and irritation not only on the gum-line, but the inside of my bottom jaw as well. I would still recommend them; because the service is great and everyone is so nice. However, I definitely would NOT recommend the Zoom Whitening process. For me personally, It is not worth the Pain and definitely not the Price.. Keep your coins or maybe try a Dentistry that’s more experienced in this particular process! I wasn’t at all happy with my initial results, because the results were very minimal. I feel horrible about my smile more now with the black dots on my gums and the white spots the bleaching left on my teeth. It’s now 5 days later and my gum tissue inside my jaw is still irritated and white. I can barely eat comfortably! The worst part about the Zoom is that I was told by the assistant that I would see good results and that was simply not true! I was shown a picture on the computer of before and after and all I saw after was a brighter picture that wasn’t my realistic results at all! If I had severe staining I would understand the results, but in all honesty my teeth weren’t that bad to start with! Definitely a waste of my money!!

Front desk to clinical, I was impressed. My hygienist, Sydney, was super kind and patient. Danielle Ruff I found this dental office while shopping around , I needed to switch from my old dentist ASAP as they were very unprofessional, dismissive, money hungry, and not personable. I saw all the great reviews for this office and thought I would give it a try and I’m so glad that I did, it’s like a breath of fresh air coming from my previous dentist, Dr. Michael Chen was very kind , thorough, and matter of fact when discussing my dental care during the initial visit. I also saw Helen the Hygienist and she was beyond sweet and accommodating , going as far as giving me a blanket to use while getting my teeth cleaned because I was cold. She made my visit relaxing and I don’t usually say that about the dentist because I’m usually on edge, I felt safe and cared for. I would also like to shout out the front desk staff Aysha and Carol, whether via phone or in person they have always been pleasant, professional, patient, and understanding, it’s much appreciated. I look forward to my follow up visits.

Lawanda Curtiss I love this place. I have had so many negative experiences with dental offices throughout the years. It seemed like every time I went to the dentist, there was something else wrong with my teeth. Ever since I’ve been going to Dr. Chen, the condition of my teeth have been getting better! Most recently, I switched my son to Dr. Chen because his dentist (Children’s Dentistry of Stonecrest) were horrible with communication and every time we went they were finding major problems with his teeth. Dr. Chen sat with him for a good 30 minutes educating him on how to improve the condition of his teeth and let him know what the root cause of all of his dental problems was. My son felt relieved and encouraged knowing that he was in good hands with Dr. Chen. I am going to switch my daughter to his office next. He is amazing, his staff is amazing and I highly recommend his office!

Taynesha Taylor I went into the office for service and the front desk lady was very RUDE ! They kelp giving misinformation. Then told me if you are not comfortable you can go somewhere else which I never said I wasn’t comfortable just needed an understanding because the stories kelp changing then they went to say oh it’s miscommunication. The asked her manger how do you want to proceed. It’s crazy I’ll be going to someone who actually care . I asked to speak with the Dr they told me the Dr has nothing to do with this . I’ll be taking further actions because it’s giving racism. I have never been talked to this one at a dental office ! How you work front desk customer service and rolling your eyes and giving misinformation? The office needs new staff .

isaac gridley Worst dental experience of my life. It started with 32 x-rays that were taken, with them saying that must be done (ive only ever had to do 4 max). Not a single dentist/hygienist asked for my permission before they performed a procedure or consulted me about insurance ramifications. Simply, at the end of my operation, I was forced to pay over 100$ out of pocket when my insurance fully covered a regular cleaning. My dentist told me I had no cavities and everything looked great, until I get to the front desk and it is suggesting me to come back multiple times to schedule my cavity fillings (plural!). This was the singular worst dental visit ive had in my life and I am completely infuriated with the service :(

Elena Fields I love the team at Hedrick Family Dentistry! Brenda is my regular hygienist and she makes my teeth sparkle, best cleanings ever! I have big teeth and as I am getting older I need extra care around my gums. My gums are sensitive but they never hurt after our cleanings. Recently my 20 year old crown cracked and required replacement. Dr Aubrey and Nannette did an excellent job with my care and explained the process and how the materials for crowns have improved in the last couple of decades. I think the best way for me to explain how great of a job they did - my temporary crown as well as my new permanent one feel like my regular teeth. I have no pain or discomfort, it’s like nothing ever happened and I feel like I have my normal teeth! Thank you Dr Aubrey, Nannette and Brenda for taking such good care of me! I also need to share that April in the front office is smart and savvy about the insurance process and helped me navigate a recent change with my insurance provider. She is patient and returns calls quickly. I just love this office and I feel well taken care of, not something I can say about all medical offices. If you are looking for top notch care where you don’t feel like just another number, please try this office!

Mo Bai ETA: I love them, but they are hard to get a hold of. They dont reply to emails or call back when Ive left a detailed message very clearly needing them to call me back. Its like either I catch a magic moment when they answer the phone or I have to show up to the office to be able to speak to someone. Update: I just had my second routine cleaning, and I would like to say that the reviewers telling you to avoid Brenda should be listened to. I didnt know who I was seeing today until I was in the seat, and that cleaning was nothing like the first one I had. There are little cuts and stab marks on my gums now. She was all over the place moving very rapidly through the cleaning. The visit with her was not even slightly comparable to the first cleaning I had (with Andrea, I believe). The cleaning felt rushed and scrambled, not to mention unnecessarily painful. So yeah, avoid Brenda. (Katelyn Worley in the reviews here has photo evidence of the same kind of damage I received from Brenda as well as a well-written summary of her experience, which I found to be very similar to my own in that it was painful, filled with unnecessary blame on me, and extremely lacking.) Original review: I havent visited a dentist since before I got braces, which was a little over a decade ago. Today, I had my first professional cleaning since then. The reason for my hiatus from so much as entering dental offices was the trauma from Help A Child Smile. They were awful, and them being my first and only experiences with dentistry through my adolescent years left me with a great disdain for all things dentistry. I was more than happy to just take care of my own teeth, thinking that all dental visits must be that way. Well.. I gave it another shot with these guys, and this was SO much better. INFINITELY BETTER. If I wasnt filled with anxiety just from being in the building, I could have fallen asleep during that gentle and thorough cleaning. Everyone that Ive interacted with there is so sweet. I feel so much better about getting professional cleanings and about general dental visits after this experience. Its very nice to know that dentistry doesnt have to mean literal torment. I understand why people like going to the dentist now.

DJ Jeff Brown Two years ago, I visited Alcovy Dental to have my front tooth flipper replaced, which I had unfortunately lost. The replacement flipper came back and fit perfectly, and I was very satisfied with the service. However, recently I encountered an issue where I lost another flipper for the same tooth. Naturally, I returned to Alcovy Dental to have it replaced. This time, however, I experienced some difficulties as the replacement flipper didnt fit properly. I explained the situation to Dr. Travis Hampton, and to my surprise, he informed me that occasionally these devices dont fit as they are meant to be temporary solutions. Understandably, I was concerned, especially considering that Ive been using a flipper for over 20 years, likely as long as Dr. Travis Hampton has been practicing. Despite my concerns, Dr. Hampton attempted to adjust the flipper during my initial visit, but unfortunately, it still didnt fit comfortably. Frustrated by the situation, I returned today to express my ongoing issue. However, I was met with an unexpected and unprofessional attitude from Dr. Hampton. His response was dismissive and rude, stating that he had made thousands of these and couldnt see how it could fit any better, suggesting that I simply take a refund and leave. I am deeply disappointed by the lack of professionalism and empathy displayed during my recent interactions with Dr. Hampton. As a patient, I expect to be treated with respect and understanding, especially when dealing with issues affecting my dental health and comfort. The dismissive attitude and lack of willingness to address my concerns have left me feeling dissatisfied with my experience at Alcovy Dental. I hope that my feedback can contribute to improving the level of patient care at Alcovy Dental, ensuring that all patients are treated with the respect and understanding they deserve.

Leslie Ann Wilkerson Alcovy dental is absolutely, 100% the best dental office in the area. I was greeted with smiles as soon as I walked in the door, the wait time was literally only a minute (which is a plus in my book) once I was taken back the girls were so sweet and very knowledgeable answering any questions I had. Once I met the doctor thats when I fell in love with this office, he walked in the room singing and smiling... to me thats very unusual, most doctors act superior or have very dry attitudes, Dr. Hampton is very down to earth. Once my visit with the doctor was over they walked me to the front office to check out, the girls/guy were very helpful helping me understand my dental insurance and explaining my treatment plan. I would recommend any of my friends and family to this office, and I have done just that. Great experience! Thanks Alcovy Dental.

My issue is, someone could have explained to me that nothing is being done today and someone will be in shortly to explain XYZ. Almost 2hrs of my day waited. Very unprofessional in my opinion. Janice Jones You don’t normally hear “ fun “ and “ dentist “ in the same sentence, but when it comes to this practice you’ll see exactly what I mean. Out of all of the practices in Covington, this is the one that truly cares about their people and patients. Dr. Sterling and his staff are by far the most efficient, respectable, and honest folks you could ask for. They have always been welcoming and exceptionally personable. The jokes that come out of this place are almost as great as the smiles on the patients. They’re easy to work with and they do what’s best for you, not their pockets. If you’re looking for a practice that’s honest, fair, and full of fun, give them a call. You can’t go wrong.

A McIntosh My family and I absolutely love this dental office! My children love going to the dentist and look forward to their visits. If you’re looking for safe, clean, friendly environment look no further! Dr. Whitworth is just as friendly and kind as each of his hygienists! From the front desk, to X-rays, cleaning and checking out everyone is super patient and they all seem so happy to be there!

Maria Ham This place was questionable from the filthy front door to the broken glass partition at the reception desk. The lady staff were very nice, but their boss/ the dentist was rude to the staff, which made me question his chair side manner. The office looked grimy. There were water stains on the ceiling, the dentist chair was torn up and taped in spots, the cover on the light above the chair was yellowed and cracked up, and I mean cracked! The cabinet looked like someone taped it with heavy-duty masking tape, and then they ripped it all off, leaving rip marks all across it, and there was a random kitchen looking cabinet with an unusable sink sitting out of place between the dental chair and the wall cabinet. Needless to say, I decided against opening my mouth in this place. Ive never seen anything like that. The reviews about this place are true! The staff assured me that the place was just old but clean. The walls were dirty, too. This dentist clearly takes no pride in his practice. He even has a sign outside that says, "We accept Medicad." Really?? Cant even spell Medicaid correctly? I would never recommend this place. 5 stars for the lady staffers. Zero for Dentures and Family Dentistry. Gave it one star because I cant give it zero! I shouldve taken pictures. I had to see it to believe it. Please believe it and save yourself a trip.

Big Yoda I can’t even lie, had I seen these reviews I wouldn’t have come here. BUT, Im glad I didn’t see them first. I woke up one morning in excruciating pain from a broken tooth. My wife called everywhere for emergency extraction and they told me I could come right in. 2hrs later my broken lower back molar was out and I felt way better. Healed and back eating two days later. First tooth I’ve ever had pulled. It’s been almost a year now. I know they got all of it out because I saw them after extraction and they matched the x ray. The office surely could use some work and the equipment may be a bit “long in the tooth”, but it reflects in the price they relay to the customer. These people helped me and I highly recommend. Give them a try. All experiences will differ.

Grant A This was the worst dental experience I have ever had. I unfortunately don’t work and I have to rely on Medicaid for healthcare, dental and vision insurance. I had a very hard time finding a dentist for an adult female with Peach State Health Plan and now Amerigoup. I was so happy that I was able to find one and that I was able to get an appointment within a few days of calling. I told him that there were 2 teeth that I think needed extraction. They took X-rays but he still hit my teeth with his mirror and then he kept blowing cold air in the area causing more pain. I don’t know why he is still in business and if I had not been desperate to get the tooth removed I would have left. I will NOT be returning. The rooms are not the cleanest. They are slow for there to be so many of them working there. I have had wisdom teeth removed 2 at one time. I have also had a few molars removed. Never have I ever had so much anesthesia injected to the point my face was visibly swollen, the skin under my eye upper cheek area started twitching. I have been home for hours and I can’t even sleep. I can’t bite down on that side I’m still semi numb 8 hours later. I will be contacting Medicaid as well as the dental board to file a complaint. I’m not sure how often the dentist Jimmy Blount washes his hands. He used hand sanitizer when he numbed my mouth. I was in discomfort when he came back in the room to do the extraction I didn’t notice if he used hand sanitizer that time or nothing at all. Even though he took them off. I’m not sure if he used the same gloves or not. They don’t seem to be that sanitary there honestly. Location 5156 Cook St NE Covington, GA 30014 Just run don’t put yourself at risk.

Sterling Wheeler I love this dentist office. Dr Carolyn Moore is the best EVER!!!!!The staff has always been very nice every time I go. Dr. Moore is very patient and will make you comfortable. I will not allow any other dentist to work on my teeth. I highly recommend Dr. Moore and her staff! Thanks for all you do and making my dentist appointments pleasurable. Keep up the good work team! Victoria Flowers I had to have one of my back teeth pulled today 3/5/2019. Unfortunately, I do not remember the dentist’s name but she was wonderful along with her staff. She was very reassuring and even though it was a little tough getting the tooth out, she did her best to keep me comfortable. Will definitely go back here for any of my dental issues or needs!

Debbie Jones 3/14/2019 I went in a nervous wreck because I read horrible reviews. I waited over an hour before discovering the receptionist made an error with preparing my file. Not a great first impression, but she explained they were in process of changing office procedures to improve services for clients. She was so nice, apologetic, friendly, I immediately forgave the mistake. In fact ALL the office staff were friendly, professional, quick. Dr. Moore? All I can say is she knows what she is doing, she is professional and compassionate, I was so impressed with her! Some reviews are for the past Dentist (who was HORRIBLE) , new management, staff and dentist are INCREDIBLE!

Tracie Wilkins I love this practice!! I have been a patient of Dr. Dean for many years and I will not go to anybody else. They are very responsive every time I call and have never made me feel like I was a bother to them. The staff is amazing, from Crystal up front who I absolutely love to Wendi in the back who keeps me laughing -- they absolutely feel like friends!! Dr. Dean makes every contact feel like a personal experience and like he really cares about my dental health. I trust this practice and would recommend it to anybody.

Mora McFarland Dr. Dean is the best. You will not find a more qualified, kind, compassionate, funny, gentle, dentist anywhere. This man is a pro. Hes genuine and pleasant, and even though Im terrified of dental procedures of any kind, he always makes me so comfortable and relaxed. I laugh a lot in his chair. Hes a true gem. My husband and I are both patients of his, and dont want to go to any other dentist. His staff is also wonderful. Great people all-around.

Kristi Helton Ive been a customer for about 4 or 5 years now and always recommend Dr Dean when friends ask! He is wonderful, his staff is the best! They take their time and are honest with you... Ive never once felt like "just a number" with Dr Dean and his staff.
