1 /5 M Y: Ren is amazing! I went to her to get a haircut fixed and it was such a good choice! Instead of a weird blunt cut as cross the bottom, she was able to give my hair a softer, more flowy look. The whole salon was brightly lit and really pretty!
I will also say: Asian women out there? Dont let white people convince you to get layers. They dont know what theyre talking about. Tbh Ren is the only white person Ive trusted with my hair because she GETS it.
As of 2019, unfortunately I have to amend my review. On October 18, 2018, I had an appointment at 4:30PM to get a trim. It seemed to go off without a hitch, but after several weeks I started noticing split ends. Heres the thing though: In my entire 28 years in existence, throughout having both long and short hair, I have never once had to deal with split ends. I actually had to google what they were because I was unfamiliar with that. I spent months worrying and trying to figure out what was going wrong or if my hair was getting weaker. In early January, I finally made an appointment at another salon - a korean salon up in Duluth called Pika Pika. The stylist took one look at my concerns and told me I was fine. In fact, my hair had been improperly cut with blunt scissors, which was why the ends were splitting. After she fixed Salon Modellos mistakes, I have not had any other issues other than the residual split ends as the shorter lengths grow out. I will not be returning to Salon Modello because its just really too much hassle to deal with the fall out if they cut with blunt scissors again. :(
