2 /5 Tyyeshia Starnes: My fiance and I will not return to this facility. My fiance was spoken to in a manner that was beneath him. All he wanted was an adjustment on his dentures which was paid for 6 days ago. The staff told us if there was any problems to come back, which he did for gum pain due to the dentures. We were not asking for a refund, just an adjustment to the upper denture plate. My fiance stated he flew of the handle and was very unprofessional. I feel bad because I was the one who brought him there to get work done.

5 /5 Andre Long: Dr Kowan is an excellent dentist and his staff is impeccable. They create a very relaxing and family like environment and are extremely kind. He goes above and beyond to ensure satisfaction with the care you receive. I highly recommend him to anyone needing quality care.

2 /5 illustrious Vibe: Let me start by saying that Dr. Kowan is a phenomenal man, and he does great work. He’s very knowledgeable and very thorough with the work that he does. My issue is with his staff. The way that they talk to people is unacceptable. I have been a patient going on 9 months, and this would make the second time I have been spoken to in a manner that I will not tolerate. I have always paid any fees that were due upfront and have never giving anyone at the office an issue. Originally, I was told there was no balance. Then prior to scheduling an appointment I was told that I did have a balance, and it would need to be paid BEFORE my appointment, and it was set. Another lady called and said the information I was given was incorrect. She demanded a payment right then and was very rude and nasty when I told her that I would give her a call back, because I was at work. She then proceeds to say well we need it right now, and if you don’t pay the 16.40 we’re canceling the appointment. I called the office back, but they were already closed. My appointment was at 9:30-9:45am today. They opened at 9am. I called as soon as they opened to make the payment and was told “well I told you if you didn’t pay it we were going to cancel it. So we did it like we told you we would”. After paying the fee, I simply asked for my dental records because this was unacceptable. She had an attitude about it. The customer service has been inane! I definitely do not want to deal with any practice who treats their customers like this.

5 /5 Mitch Wilson: Todays experience was undoubtedly the very best visit I have ever had in a doctor of dentistrys office in the past 40 years. I was a new patient with an acute issue, and Michelle (practice manager) was able to work me in for a visit the next morning after I had called. The entire visit--front office staff, chair side clinical staff, and Dr Kowan, provided a caring, considerate, and clearly communicative process throughout the encounter. Dr Kowans triage & diagnostic skills were keen and precisely accurate. I required urgent extraction. His technique was impeccable--his intra-operative decision making coupled with manual skills and operative tool use reflected true mastery that only comes with years of practice AND an innate talent not frequently found in many contemporary providers. Dr Kowans practice (office, clinical/medical dentistry staff) is, in my professional and personal opinion, a hidden treasure here in the south side of town. It is a throwback to a time when "old school" doctors ran practices that were patient centered, warm and caring, and not cold, austere corporate entities where patients are numbers on a conveyor belt, and staff are flogged to work faster and harder--regardless of what the slick, shiny marketing tools espouse alleging the high priority placed on patient experience and the likes...
