We took our pound puppy for a day trial today to see if he is behaviorally fit for boarding for an upcoming trip.
For reference, he’s a complete mixed breed. Roughly 1 year old.
Sweetest dog ever with no signs of aggression at home.
The visit started badly.
I was put off some by being told I couldn’t come past the lobby to see my pets accommodations.
5 minutes later, I was told he’s been labeled a “fence fighter” and was handed his harness, collar and tags.
That dog hasn’t been in a fight in his life.
He was paraded past much bigger dogs after being in his home literally 5 minutes prior.
With strangers.
I literally counted the minutes to pick him back up.
They turned down boarding because the owner decided he has too much bully in his pedigree.
But didn’t have the professionalism to explain in person.
I own a small business as well.
But I was glad.
There’s pet lovers and pet owners.
I can’t trust my family with people afraid of puppies.
Bullet dodged.
The second star is for the girl who knew better.
