And 3 turtles, including one large, snapping turtle. I also encountered one of the largest spiders Ive ever seen.Be careful

5 /5 Mike Leigh: Great place to go for walks and experience nature. If you like fishing you can catch catfish and brim all day and hear the bass jump and laugh at you. Also beavers and animals in their natural habitat all throughout the trail and the river.

Brian Douglas: Edited after the end of our visit to drop from 3 stars to 1 after confirming with the funnel cake stand workers that it would be open until park closing time. Upon coming back to it half hour before closing they rudely say they are closed. Terrible way to keep people returning. $5 parking coupon to use in the park down the drain. Seems like they do this often. Rough way to end a decent day. This was our first visit. We came solely for Arieforce One. We had considered just paying for one single ride on it but figured we’d by the full day pass to ride it as much as we wanted. It ended up being the only memorable thing at the park. Hot seat was decent when it was operational. The newest ride advertised on their website wasn’t even running the entire time there. The operations are lazy and most of the rides seem very old and janky. Aside from marathoning Arieforce One, which is worth the cost alone, I’d stick to paying for a ride or two and calling it a day. Hopefully they make some improvements in the future.

William Root House Museum & Garden - Marietta

Chelsea Johnston: My family took advantage of the free admission (as part of the Second Sunday program) and went to the William Root house. There’s a lot to see even though the ground and houses are not very large. If you are into Marietta or Civil War era history, then this is a great little place to visit. The museum has recently been updated with a lot of nice improvements. They have touch screens in most of the exhibits and a few small things for little kids to enjoy. Their gift shop was also very cute. I would definitely recommend a visit! FYI: -They do have a ramp and an outside elevator to get into the main levels of the buildings, but I did not see anything to help those with wheelchairs or strollers get to the second stories of these historic buildings. -there is a parking lot, but it is rather small

Marietta History Center - Marietta

Charles H. Coolidge Medal of Honor Heritage Center: We brought our 2024 Teacher Fellowship cohort here to start our tour following the trail of The Great Locomotive Chase. Amy was awesome helping us plan the trip and making sure they were ready for us when we arrived. Anna and Christa welcomed us and provided great historical interpretation and guidance as we toured the Center learning about the "Andrews Raiders," the group of Union soldiers and civilians who stole the locomotive "The General" and launched the day-long chase back to Chattanooga that resulted in the awarding of the first Medals of Honor. The exhibits were impressive and informative, and everyone really enjoyed our time there. It was a fantastic way to start our tour. Highly recommend!

Marietta Fire Museum - Marietta

Beenish Usmani: Free to enter, small museum for kids interested in fire trucks and a nearby fire station. The firefighters are so king and they let your child even sit inside one if their trucks. My son loved the plastic helmet they gave as a gift. I would definitely recommend it to parents whose kids are interested in this
