Charles H. Coolidge Medal of Honor Heritage Center: We brought our 2024 Teacher Fellowship cohort here to start our tour following the trail of The Great Locomotive Chase. Amy was awesome helping us plan the trip and making sure they were ready for us when we arrived. Anna and Christa welcomed us and provided great historical interpretation and guidance as we toured the Center learning about the "Andrews Raiders," the group of Union soldiers and civilians who stole the locomotive "The General" and launched the day-long chase back to Chattanooga that resulted in the awarding of the first Medals of Honor. The exhibits were impressive and informative, and everyone really enjoyed our time there. It was a fantastic way to start our tour. Highly recommend!

Beenish Usmani: Free to enter, small museum for kids interested in fire trucks and a nearby fire station. The firefighters are so king and they let your child even sit inside one if their trucks. My son loved the plastic helmet they gave as a gift. I would definitely recommend it to parents whose kids are interested in this

Phuoc Le: Beautiful historic building sits just off Marietta Square and houses wonderful exhibitions of local and regional artists from all genres and mediums. The staff is thoughtful in their approach to the artists and exhibitions they choose to display. Enjoy your experience at an opening reception and then walk to one of the many eateries or bars on the Square for a top-notch date night!

John: Ode to East Cobb Park In East Cobb’s heart where children play, A park awaits to brighten day. With winding trails and open skies, And trees that stretch and greet with sighs. The creek may swell with gentle rain, Yet never floods, nor leaves a stain. For after storms have had their say, The groundskeepers sweep gloom away. With rakes in hand and cheerful stride, They tame the wild, restore our pride. No twig too small, no mud too wide— They keep our paths both clear and wide. Their work, a quiet, noble feat, To make our strolls so clean and sweet. The swings still squeak with youthful glee, The benches dry, the fields debris-free. So here’s to those who trim and tend, Whose care and effort never end. East Cobb Park, a local gem, Is shining bright—because of them!

Michael OB: Wonderful and beautiful place to go hiking, fishing, kayaking, tubing, etc... Make sure to read the sign in the parking lot carefully. There is a $5 per vehicle charge to park (put slip in windshield), but it is very easy to miss that notification and the police do come and check. Regardless, it is a very well maintained area and the proceeds help to keep it that way.

Abbigail Ackerman: What a wonderful diamond in the rough! Had a wonderful pit-stop here one weekend in November on a whim and we don’t regret it one bit! The delightful Veterans that run the facility are kind enough to share their stories and knowledge, first hand accounts are some of the best forms of historical documentation. I definitely recommend bringing anyone who enjoys aviation to stop by and listen in, they even do birthdays! *bring cash if you can, signal for card machines isn’t always great - rustic Georgia things
