1 /5 Charlie Reese: BEWARE! I have been changing my own oil for over 30 years, but last time on my 2013 Ford 5.4L, I was too busy and had EOC do it. Big mistake! PROBLEM 1: the 5/8" head OEM oil plug I had been using for 8 years with no issues was replaced with a different one with a 17mm head. Whether they lost or stripped the threads in my old one, I got the joy of crawling out and back to the toolbox. PROBLEM 2: The wrong oil filter was used, potentially causing engine damage. If youre using EcoGard, this engine requires the X4651, not the X2500 which is used for Fords V-6 engines. Look at the size difference between the correct Fram PH2 and what they used! I cant think of a more effective way to starve oil flow in my 200k-mile engine. Just because it screws on doesnt mean it fits, folks! PROBLEM 3: Take a look at the filter end, which I eventually had to use channel locks to remove. My "claw" wrench wouldnt even spin it off! Their mechanics need to be trained to hand-tighten filters. The filter wrench is only for removal!
So, in summary, my 30-minute oil change morphed into a 2-hour ordeal. You have been warned - I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
