James Young: Needs to be redid. Great park just needs to be updated. Redo the goals, and and a few things for the younger kids to play on. Slides, swings , monkeybars, a merry go round. Just small things would make it more appealing to the kids

B: This is a very nice state park. It is well maintained and peaceful and quiet place to spend the day. While much of the land area of the park is still recovering from Hurricane Helene, there is plenty to do and see. It is very kid friendly, especially with the farm animals here. It is a living farm with plants, chicken, goats, sheep and more. The museum by the lake has staff there to explain things. If they are not inside, they are outside in the farm area tending to the crops and animals. Visited in late march when the Cherokee Roses, Azaleas, Dogwoods and Wisteria were in full bloom. The boardwalk and trail behind the lake were still closed from the hurricane damage, but the close side of the lake was open with several families fishing. Lots of dragonflies and damselflies were seen flying around. It is definitely worth the trip to come here. GA state park admission fees are low (or use an annual pass)

Kristine G: Love our Memorial weekend at the park. Site 1 was big and level. The evening sun was brutal but still a good spot. Bathhouse clean but do need a refresh. All employees and camp host friendly and accommodating.

Lauren Labit: I enjoy this park because of how quirky and unique it is. A great part is the trails! Highly recommend if you need something fun and free to do that gets you, your family / kiddos, and dogs out in nature. Plus, it’s right behind the library - how cool is that!

Virginia Voll: I love this park. It has so much to offer, a fishing lake with a pier designed to accommodate wheelchairs, a great playground, ball field and glorious hiking trails. The nature trails are great but not marked well so you can get a little lost, but no worries, you eventually find your way out and it adds to the adventure. There are little wooden bridges ... I always feel like I’m out in the woods even though the park is within walking distance of the city. My favorite park to take a daily walk.

Chelsea Hayton: Not a ton going on when we visited because it was a Monday but also seemed like they could really lean in a little more to the tourists visiting for the Originals show like Covington has for Vampire Diaries fans. There were some shops that had leaned into it but seemed like a lot of shops had closed down. I could see this being a really cool bustling area for tourists of all kinds to shop and eat. Otherwise, its a very cute area to visit and Im sure the locals appreciate the peacefulness of it with a cute little park in the middle.

Doug Wallen: Took a lazy Saturday to visit nearby Milledgeville to visit the former Governors mansion. There were no other guests, so it became a one-on-one excursion through the mansion. Very well-informed docent and a thorough trip through the home. I highly recommend this trip while in Milledgeville.

Nathan McDaniel: My daughter and I visited this place a week ago. Its just something to do because it had been raining here so much, and it was a nice day and we got out and and decided on this place. She had a good time, drove the go-karts and we played Putt-Putt and she played a few games inside. They also have bumper boats and a few other attractions as well. However, we did not partake in any of those activities.

Peyton: Gorgeous views. I ended up here as a stop on a surprise roadtrip and I was speechless. It was pretty foggy when I was there and it gave off almost walking dead vibes but it was so cool! I’m sure when it’s not foggy you can see a lot from the viewpoint. There were benches to sit at and relax and just enjoy being surrounded by nature
