Good place to walk and exercise but if you go more than a time or two and stay more than 5 minutes (even a senior female) the neighbor across the street from the park will report you to police as being a threat. Then the police want to know why youre in the park. This isnt my cup of tea.
Atlanta Botanical Garden - Atlanta Michael Richardson: I bought my tickets online and there was less than a 7 minute wait to enter the absolutely fantastic gardens featuring the new "Alice In Wonderland" exhibit. I walked the exhibits for hours and enjoyed every single minute of it. The only thing comparable to the beauty of the botanics were the ladies from all over the world enjoying the same exhibits. Plenty of resting spots as well as water filling stations and restroom facilities.
World of Coca-Cola - Atlanta Nook H: The World of Coca-Cola is worth a visit — especially if you’re a fan of the brand or just love fizzy drinks. The experience starts off strong with a short film that’s all about joy and connection, followed by a self-guided journey through Coca-Cola’s colorful world.
The exhibits are a mix of history, branding, and pop culture. The vault with the secret formula is cool (though more gimmicky than revealing), and the vintage Coca-Cola ads and memorabilia are fun to browse through. One of the highlights is definitely the tasting room, where you can sample over 100 different beverages from around the world — some delicious, others… not so much (looking at you, Beverly from Italy!).
The interactive parts are great for kids, but adults can enjoy it too. The museum does get busy, especially on weekends and holidays, so try to go earlier in the day if you want to avoid the crowd.
Overall, it’s a fun and unique experience. It’s not an all-day event — maybe 1.5 to 2 hours tops — but it’s definitely a solid stop if you’re exploring downtown Atlanta or visiting nearby attractions like the Georgia Aquarium or Centennial Olympic Park.
High Museum of Art - Atlanta Thania Molina: I love this museum so much. I buy the yearly pass, often. It’s one of my favorite places to visit in Midtown. They have a diverse collection—from classic to contemporary. The atmosphere is always chill and welcoming, and the staff is consistently friendly and helpful. They always do such a great job bringing in thoughtfully curated exhibits, and their permanent exhibits are always a favorite for me. It’s truly a gem for art lovers in Atlanta.
Georgia Aquarium - Atlanta Nook H: If you’re in Atlanta and looking for something fun and unforgettable, the Georgia Aquarium is 100% worth a visit. It’s one of the largest aquariums in the world—and you can tell the moment you walk in.
The main highlights? Definitely the Ocean Voyager exhibit, where you get to see massive whale sharks, manta rays, and tons of other sea creatures gliding right over your head in the tunnel. It’s like being inside a giant underwater movie. Seriously magical.
The dolphin and sea lion shows are a fun break from walking around, and they’re great for kids and adults alike. The staff really puts effort into making them educational but still entertaining. Make sure to check the showtimes early and plan your visit around them—they do fill up!
There are tons of smaller exhibits too, from jellyfish and piranhas to beluga whales and penguins. Everything is well-maintained, clean, and easy to navigate. They’ve also added a shark and predator gallery that feels a bit like stepping into an underwater thriller.
Prices can be a bit steep (especially if you add parking and food), but it’s a full-day experience and you really do get a lot for the money. Booking tickets online ahead of time is a good idea to avoid long lines.
SkyView Atlanta - Atlanta Janet Depaz: I think it is a bit pricey (about $22 with fees and taxes) but it was a fun thing to do. Good view of the city, the aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, Olympic Park, etc. We found meter parking around there too. Public restrooms and snacks on site. The whole thing lasted 10 minutes.
Piedmont Park - Mrs Ladybake: We attended the Atlanta Jazz Festival on Sunday. It wasnt overly crowded at all. The vendors were diverse, plentiful and reasonably priced. The set up for visitors was well thought out. The grounds were relatively clean for such a huge event. We always have a great time there.
Krog Street Tunnel - Atlanta Nitti Subramaniam: Atlanta’s creative street art scene is a must if you are ever there. A truly immersive walking art experience.
Atlanta History Center - Atlanta Spencer Parsons: We had a wonderful time. We especially love how much the history center encompasses with the Swan House and trails and farm houses and main exhibits. We spent a while walking the trails. We also really enjoyed the Cyclorama oil painting. The exhibit complements the painting extremely well. The employees were kind, especially Jack who helped set up our visit in the perfect way.
Oakland Cemetery - Atlanta Val Woldman: Historic cemetery that is now a park. Lots of families and dog walkers but not too busy. Visitor Center with cute gift shop and restrooms. We booked a tour with Jihan. She gave a fantastic talk about the history, focusing on “We Shall Overcome”
