5 /5 Dano C: Was a good summer "field trip". The rangers were very welcoming and helpful. It is a somber site, and deserving of that type of attitude...I wouldnt bring small children or children that want to touch everything and run all over. We were glad we made the trip and would definitely come back for special events.

The entire prison site is saved and open - my son and I walked the entire space, crisscrossing the 27 acre stockade area as well as the surrounding earthworks and hospital sites. The place has a mix of vibes - Sharing the solemnity of a battlefield, it also has levels of sadness, anger, despair, and hopelessness. We felt like we were moving through the sea of 32,000 faces and tents. Even though we spent the entire day there, it was hard to leave.

5 /5 Lori Anderson: Awesome and Hallowed place. Kept up gorgeously. The POW museum is a must see!!! Touches your heart, mind and soul even if you havent had a POW in your life. No charge unless you buy memorabilia. You definitely should browse and buy something to remember it by. 100% recommend.
