1 /5 Vanessa Alanis: Terrible service. I took my car in for repairs due to a collision. The door had to be replaced with a new one, and the installation wasnt aligned, even though they initially told me it would be fine with the new door! It wasnt! The interior plastics were loose, dirty, and everything was poorly done and broken, just like the gaskets! That was a… It had a mechanical failure. They gave me a diagnosis that wasnt correct. They made me buy materials I didnt need. They removed the spark plugs my car had (one month old, practically new) so they could keep them. They tried to give me some useless ones from another car. They replaced the coils (which were still in good condition) and the ignition sensor, which also didnt need to be replaced! In the end, they told me it wasnt any of those things and that they werent working on the real problem. I had to take it to the tow truck because it never started again.

I trusted myself and we made a trip of more than 2 thousand miles. Halfway there we ran out of oil and the transmission almost broke. They were not responsible.

Gerber Collision & Glass - LaGrange

Kenneth McCreless: I know there are mixed reviews for Gerber Collision & Glass. However, I have only had great experiences with the quality of their service and repair work. Most recently, my Honda Ridgeline was in a 7 vehicle fender bender on I-20 eastbound out of Atlanta. I had obvious front end damage and what appeared to be minor rear bumper damage. Josh Bozeman, the Gerber estimator, was courteous and knowledgeable. There was no paint damage, and the distorted grill, and front fenders could be popped back into place with only heel of the hand pressure. Josh replaced all broken fender clips and trim clips around both front wheel wells. Once he determined that there was no structural damage to the rear bumper, only a cosmetic cut that didn’t require replacement, I opted not to get a new bumper. Josh gave an honest assessment of the damage and made it look like new with no charge to me or USAA. In addition, about two years ago, I hit a deer and the front of this same Ridgeline had significant damage. USAA again sent me to Gerber, who did an excellent repair job. The fit and finish was flawless. So, my experience with this particular Gerber shop in LaGrange has been outstanding.

The car did not even last three weeks. When confronted he denies all fault. He has nothing but excuses to give. There are zip ties holding parts together and new leaks. I am warning all car owners to stay clear of this place.

Alan Higginbotham: My hats off to Ricardo and Mike at Pep Boys for taking care of us the night before Thanksgiving day, and for even staying late to do their job! They patched a tire, took our tire off and made sure that it held air before we headed out and they verified that our sensors were working. They were informative and explained what happened and how they were going to repair it. I recall Mike stating, “I’m not going to charge you until I give you a free tire inspection, first we need know what’s wrong.” My kids also stated that their bathroom was clean an added bonus for a car shop that is not very common. The details: We had a nail or shrapnel from the road puncture our tire as we were driving down the interstate a few hours away from where we live. The tire sensor immediately went off and we were losing air fast! It was right around 6:30 and they were literally right down the road. A nearby gas station also had air which helped us to get there. Pep boys was 3 minutes away but we were losing air fast. I was worried and even accidentally blocked the bay, not meaning to. To make sure the tire could reach the air hose. Both the customer and the employees were very hospitable and non-judgmental of my minor mistake when I was under stress. Earlier that evening, I called them while at the gas station and he said “we are open till 7 PM, you get here before that time and we will see what we can do for you.” They were honest, sincere and did not over promise or give us false hopes as he did not know the situation over the phone. They also both spoke Spanish to my kids who have been learning Spanish in school. Thanks for taking care of us and for having a great attitude while working late! Thanks for letting us be your last customer this evening! If tipping was allowed I would have given them one this evening!

Jay Paxton: This is a highly rated service center. However, the main complaint I have is the constant up sale tactics used and the lack of records that implicate poor performance. If you have a problem checked out and the say nothing is wrong make them note it on the repair order and be sure to save the repair ticket for future reference. We had our brakes checked because of a grinding noise when breaking in the rain. They checked the brakes and said there was nothing wrong. Approximately six months later we had to have a brake job due to an excessively worn brake pad caused by a sticking caliper. They had no record of the brake check performed.

Paul Murphy: I was traveling from South Carolina down to Florida when having issues with my truck. Fortunately, I chose this exit to get off of and was fortunate enough to come across the gentlemen at the shop. Michael and his staff was super knowledgeable and very punctual! They saved me from losing a wheel on the interstate at 70mph while pulling a trailer. Undoubtedly, catastrophic. They put my truck on the lift immediately and didnt come back up for air all day, including driving a distance to get a part that wasnt locally available. They didnt want me to have to spend the night. Hell, Michael even bought me lunch. These are the kind of gentlemen and professionals you can only hope you meet when youre in a bind. I dont imagine Ill ever see them again, but I wont ever forget them.

W R (Vambee): We are on our way from NC to Tampa, FL. Our journey on its 5th day begins with the dreaded check engine light. Nothing to concerning, we start calling shops along our route in west GA near Columbus toward Waycross. Not one shop was able to help. Finally, I go to auto parts store gather supplies and viola, I switch on my basic maintenance chief. Fluids, filters, and the journey continues. One problem, the oil plug is Impact wrenched on. The previous change was done in TX. Now I exhausted all efforts to remove to no avail. We tried driving to several places. AJs very own Johnny step up to help. He was in the shop with big rigs, tractor, and all types of equipment. Stops to listen to our situation. He wants to help since we have all the parts, but calls his owner for approval. Long story short, they take us on. We run errands with our toad and viola that evening our 2007 Gulf Stream Endura 6340 is back up and running. Not one to two weeks. No need for complex machines, simply a heart to serve. It was more than a typical oil change due to a stripped highly torqued bolt, but a one day turn around in the country is totally impressive.
