  • What Clients Are Saying about American Veterans Memorial Park (on GG)
4 /5 Kevin Edwards: The wife and i got out of the house for a morning walk and this park was a very nice place to do so. The only down side was the fact that since the ducks are permanent residents there you might want to watch every step you take, lol. You would think that the city would have a little more responsibility in keeping the park clean, but besides that the park is pretty nice.
5 /5 Erin Trammell: This is a nice quaint place to walk by yourself, with family, friends, and bring the doggies! There are bags to pick up poop if need be. There are lots of ducks and geese to watch while there. Benches for you to sit at along with picnic tables and grills. There is a fountain in the middle to keep the water circulated and pretty. This is a 1/3 of a mile so three times around and youll have walked a mile!
5 /5 Paula Hembree: Its a small place for walking but its very peaceful. My dog and I enjoyed the park every Sunday.
5 /5 Audrey Courson: This is a great place to exercise, pic nic, grill, fish or feed the ducks.Although it doesnt have public restrooms, it does have plenty of trash cans to keep the park clean. Parking is also limited.

Pamela B: A very peaceful park with a creek flowing through. It is an ideal spot to spend the day hiking, picnicking, and just simply enjoying nature. You can also sample the spring water flowing inside the stone house. I really enjoyed my visit to Indian Springs State Park.

Atkinson Shea (dedncide): Great place to come get some peace. Quiet trails and great spot for a picnic or BBQ. River nearby for swimming, but mind the currents. There has been several fatalities from inexperienced swimmers. Be safe and have fun.

Brian Newton: Super nice camping area! Went on the trail for about half a mile in and it was very nice down there. It was however a little washed out but still visible markings. I would like to return and hike more of the trail. You can hear trains in the distance and there are planes that fly above about ever hour or so. Overall super great experience.

Christy Wilmont: Very remote area for a nice little day trip. Fishing, photo ops, and kayaking. There are walking trails but they looked rugged to me. There is a spot where you can walk down on the rocks by the water.

Palomar 54: If you’ve never been in a lighthouse this stop is a must. It is old but well maintained. The history is explained very well and the view from up top is incredible. There are a few stairs but there is a resting place after each of six flights. Don’t forget the views are incredible. The people working there are so nice. They explain everything so well. The price is very reasonable for all ages. The museum is small but perfect for the setting. I strongly recommend you visit the tybee light station and museum on your way to the beach. You will be impressed. And the views, wow.

Pamela B: Wonderfully maintained state park featuring an old historic mill and a picturesque lake. Such a tranquil escape! The cypress-filled water and moss covered trees complete the natural beauty this park offers. I enjoyed myself just wondering and wandering through the peacefulness of it all! With activities such as fishing, kayaking, and hiking, you can certainly make a day of it. Unfortunately, one of the hiking trails was closed...

Georgia Sasquatch - Gray
Jerry Willis: The attraction is definitely off for beaten path. You have to go looking for it. I discovered it through a magazine article and then online subscription only in Georgia. This chainsaw carved Sasquatch is a testament to those who have cystic fibrosis; it is there to bring awareness to that problem.
