1 /5 Kerry LaDue: If I could give no stars I would. I was already apprehensive with the experience my husband had, but I figured I would give this place a try seeing it’s in network with my insurance, close to home and in 34 years, have never had any issues with my teeth.
I was due for X-rays, no issues here. Everyone was super nice, friendly, minimal waiting.
Once I got back to the exam chair, that is where everything started to go sideways. Apparently they have a 5 tier scale as to what type of cleaning and care is to be done. If you fall into a higher scale of cleaning needing to be done, that means your insurance most likely will not cover some of those extra costs.
I just barely fell into their second category and to the dentists recommendation of what should be done, would have to pay out of pocket roughly $150 plus another $200+ for a night guard, granted yes the night guard was optional.
I expressed I did not have the extra money to pay out of pocket and would just like a regular cleaning.
The dentist then said and I quote, “she could not do just a regular cleaning as it would be malpractice and go against her license.” And that “this isn’t like when you go to a nail salon and can pick and choose what you want.”
As I sat there listening to this, I stopped her and said “so you’re denying your clients wishes and what I am stating that I can financially afford correct, because this is your recommendation, not a necessity of what I am needing.”
I will never go back to this place of business, nor recommend. Having moved multiple times, changed dentists from job/insurance changes, I have NEVER had a dentist deny a cleaning because I wouldn’t fork over hundreds of dollars because I wouldn’t go with what their RECOMMENDATION was. If I NEEDED what was being talked about, that would be a different story, but that was not the case.
