1 /5 Ken Peach: If I could give zero stars, I would. My recent experience at Chinese Restaurant Sunflower in Cleveland, GA, was truly disappointing.
First, the food quality was shockingly poor. The soup came out cold, and both my daughter’s and my meals were also cold and clearly undercooked. The beef and steak dishes had an off-putting gritty, almost smoochy texture, and the vegetables were so hard it was like they’d barely seen heat. It all felt rushed and thrown together with no care.
When I mentioned the cold soup to our waitress, her response was to say, “I don’t make the soup, and I don’t know when it was made.” I wasn’t looking for an excuse – just wanted it heated up. We barely touched our food and finally decided to ask for the check and leave.
When I brought the issues to the attention of the cook or manager (whoever was in charge), she basically threw the check back at me and told me to just leave. I wanted to pay in full but left feeling deeply disappointed, especially considering I’ve been a loyal customer, spending around $500 here every New Year’s.
It’s sad to see a place I once trusted treat us so poorly. The restaurant was empty – and now I understand why. I won’t be back.
