4 /5 Kelly Routh: Jimmy’s Steak & Seafood is a charming little ma-and-pa style café right in the heart of a small town—it has that familiar, welcoming atmosphere you want from a local spot. The servers are friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home from the moment you sit down.
The food is good overall, though prices feel a bit on the higher side for what you get. The mushroom appetizer ($7) is a standout—fresh, hand-battered, and delicious, though the portion is pretty small, just a handful on a large plate. The small salad ($7.50) comes with plenty of toppings and tastes fresh, but artificial bacon bits and packaged dressing take away from an otherwise great start. There is no longer a salad bar (removed since COVID), so older reviews and photos online can be a little misleading.
The steak is cooked well and flavorful—$33 for a 16 oz meal feels fair for the quality, but still something to note if youre budgeting. Drinks run around $3. Sweet tea is made daily, though by dinner time it’s not as fresh as it could be.
Overall, it’s a cozy, hometown restaurant with good food and great service—just expect slightly higher prices and a few modern shortcuts that take away from the fully “homemade” feel. Still, worth a visit if you’re in the area and craving a hearty meal with small-town charm.
