2 /5 B C: I want to emphasize how important it is to treat customers with kindness because you never truly know what someone may be going through. During my last visit, my vehicle had broken down three hours from home and had to be towed to a shop and I wasn’t even sure it could be repaired that day. We hadn’t eaten breakfast and thought why not at least try to eat lunch.
We purchased our meals and did sit a bit longer than the average customer but the dining room was never full. Even so, we overheard employees talking about us, including a comment suggesting we had used all the ice in the machine. This simply wasn’t true. I only had half a cup of ice and one cup of unsweetened tea the entire time.
I’ve been visiting this restaurant during my monthly travels since 2020 and have supported it consistently, but now when I drive by, it genuinely saddens me. It breaks my heart to think that people can be so unkind. I work in the public myself and I always treat people with respect and this experience was especially disappointing. I hope that in the coming year, the employees will remember that the people passing through may be facing challenges of their own and that their kindness could be the one bright spot in someone’s day.
