2 /5 Christina G.: I used to love this place, but my recent Sunday brunch visit was really disappointing. My friend and I arrived early since it’s usually packed, but surprisingly we were the first customers there. I ordered the honey-buttered biscuit basket and the French toast—two of my favorites—only to be told they were already out of both. On a Sunday morning, with no other guests yet, that was confusing. The explanation was that they had a large party the night before.
While we were waiting, a group came in to set up for a podcast, which felt random, and service immediately seemed to shift toward them. I ordered an espresso martini, and shortly after, a large French toast order came out for the podcast group, despite being told moments earlier that French toast wasn’t available.
After about 20 minutes, I noticed the bartender cutting fruit and realized my drink had been forgotten. I went to the bar to remind her and was given a watered-down espresso martini with sugar dripping down the glass.
Despite all of this, the food we did have was still amazing as always, and parking is free. This used to be such a great spot, so I’m not sure what changed, but they really need to get back to focusing on service, bartending, and having menu items actually available.
