1 /5 Sumit Agrawal: My experience at this LA Fitness location was deeply disappointing and, frankly, shocking compared to the standards one would expect from such a well-known fitness chain. This gym is in a state of serious disrepair and neglect.
The overall environment is the first red flag. The space feels less like a modern gym and more like a crowded warehouse. A vast number of machines are crammed together, making it difficult to navigate and find a comfortable workout area. Looking up, the ceiling is a map of neglect, with widespread water stains and several sections of the false ceiling completely open or missing.
The most significant issue is the condition of the equipment itself. Many of the machines look like they have been poorly maintained for years. I observed significant rust on metal frames, layers of ingrained dirt and sweat on surfaces, and upholstery that was cracked and worn. It gives the impression that the equipment is secondhand and not up to any reasonable standard of hygiene or quality.
To make matters worse, on the day of my visit, there was no running water in the facility. A gym without access to water for members is unacceptable for both convenience and basic sanitation.
Unfortunately, nothing about my visit to this location was positive. The combination of a dilapidated facility, poorly maintained equipment, and a lack of basic amenities left me with no desire to ever return. Prospective members should be aware that this particular gym does not reflect the brands image and falls far short of a clean, motivating, or professional workout environment.
