1 /5 Rod M: I came into the store about 6:40PM. There were 2 women standing at a computer behind the jewelry case. After about 5 minutes of me looking into the cases for a Mother’s Day gift, one of the women spoke and then went into the back. Neither woman attempted to offer me any assistance, and my only 2 assumptions are that because I’m a black man dressed in sweats and a tshirt, that I couldn’t afford anything in the store. Or because it was 15mins before closing, they were ready to go. But I choose to believe it was the first option. I left out, and attempted to look for a gift in Belk. I didn’t see anything, walked back in and neither woman said nothing AGAIN. I usually buy my mother something from Kay’s every holiday, which the associate is normally black. After this incident, I will no longer support because I truly believe that was racism. And I hate to make things about race. But I had a budget of 2K, and because of that? They missed out on a great sale. Those are the items I were looking to buy
