Property Property When I called to inquire about getting a Jerry curl, Mrs. V was incredibly friendly and had a calm, cool vibe that immediately put me at ease. She patiently answered all my questions and was completely transparent about the process.
I shared with her my past experience with a Gina curl three years ago, which left my hair brittle and difficult to manage. I also mentioned how the roots weren’t treated, leading to two very different textures in my hair that eventually matted. I told her I was nervous about trying a Jerry curl, but she took the time to explain the entire process and assured me it would be a better experience. She also explained the importance of using an activator to keep the curls moisturized.
On the day of my appointment, Mrs. V’s relaxed and personable demeanor made me feel comfortable and confident in her expertise. The results were fantastic the curls turned out beautifully! The only thing I wish is that my hair were longer, as it feels a bit short now, but that’s something I’ll work on moving forward.
As for the service, it was absolutely top-notch. The shop was clean, and Mrs. V clearly knows her craft. She even provided helpful tips on maintaining and caring for the curls. I highly recommend her for anyone considering a Jerry curl. When done correctly, it’s a great option, especially for those with 4C hair it’s
If you dont see her for Jerry curl look at other services.

Bills Bills I initially wrote a very positive review for this stylist and her business because, overall, my experience at the salon was pleasant. However, despite that, I had a significant issue that became apparent immediately after my service. After my hair was dry and the perm rods were removed, I instinctively pulled my hair down and immediately noticed that it was much shorter than before. When I stood up after she applied the chemical treatment, my hair reached my chest. But once everything was finished, it only reached my shoulders. At first, I questioned myself, thinking, "Maybe I’m overreacting." But deep down, I knew something wasn’t right.
To clarify, I casually asked, "Did my hair need a trim?" She replied, "Yes." Im like when, she replied while you were on your call. ( Like if thats not a problem) . Im like how much did you cut she displayed an inch. Im pissed inside but held my composer. I then pulled down one of the curls to see the length it was shoulder length. I was lost. My hair has been in braids for two and a half years, so I know exactly how long it was before this appointment. I even have a picture from when I first got a Gina Curl, showing my hair’s length. After that treatment, I decided to braid my hair to maintain its health. Now, after two and a half years of protective styling, my hair is shorter than when I first got the Gina Curl which is devastating. All because of this styling that didnt ask for my consent and didnt have enough respect to even ask me. I do not care if it needed a trim or was damaged, that is my decision nto make.
I originally stopped doing Gina Curls because the treatment caused breakage, and my roots were difficult to manage. This time, I trusted the process and expected to see growth, not a significant loss in length. At the salon, I remained polite and composed, despite my internal frustration. She advised me not to pull my hair down for a week to avoid disturbing the curls, so I respected that. I checked out, paid for the service, and even tipped her.
A few days later, I reached out about the Carefree Curl Activator she had provided since the store was closed due to snow. She was very pleasant and professional in her responses. When I brought up my concern about my hair being shorter, she initially reassured me that she had only cut an inch. But something still didn’t sit right with me.I let it go for a few days, but the thought lingered. I eventually spoke to my sister, who has been braiding my hair for years, and showed her the length difference. She agreed my hair was noticeably shorter like 4 inches. At that point, I decided to reach out again, but this time I was more direct.
I messaged her and said, "Listen, you cut my hair without my consent. I just want you to acknowledge it and apologize." I explained that normally, a stylist asks before trimming hair, giving the client the courtesy and respect to decide for themselves. She did not do that. I waited two and a half years to achieve this length, and now I feel completely unsatisfied with the result. I emphasized that I had heard of stylists cutting too much hair off before, but I never thought it would happen to me.Instead of acknowledging my concern, she acted as if it was all in my head, which was even more frustrating. Maybe she did respond with an apology, and I missed it but at that point, I was too frustrated and simply blocked her number.
Here’s the thing , I genuinely liked her salon, her professionalism, and her clean workspace. But the fact that she cut my hair without my consent and didn’t acknowledge it is incredibly upsetting. If my ends needed to be trimmed, she should have told me. That decision should have been mine to make, not hers. I This is my honest experience, and I feel strongly that I deserve an apology for what happened. But if you book an appointment, I highly advise you to make it clear upfront that you do not consent to any cutting. It seems that some stylists just take it upon themselves to decide. I certainly did not ask for this, and it has been incredibly frustrating.
