1 /5 Martha McManus: Went to Clothes Mentor in Columbus, Ga for first time today, November 19th as it was recommended to me by a good friend! I had just left a Drs appointment at 10:25am and drove approx 4miles away! I walked in letting staff know I had called a couple weeks before to ask about their process should I bring in some clothing items. I walked in introduced myself, went back out to my vehicle and brought in a laundry basket of neatly folded clothing items, and one white trash bag filled with 3 purses, 6 pair of shoes and some of the 50 total clothing items, many with tags. I filled out the required info, talked a couple minutes with 2 very nice, friendly staff letting them know I had other errands to run and would be back in a couple hours or more! I left with my sister and BIL and we drove the car across 1 lane in parking lot to a restaurant to have breakfast! It would have been approximately 10:40am as our order was taken at 10:46am. I had received a text at 10:45am stating my Clothes Mentor dropoff was complete. I was confused. After eating went straight across parking lot and was told they accepted 5 items based on what they thought would sell. All 5 had been at top of laundry basket. I accepted my $14 and made the comment I was confused as to why they would not have chosen more items, especially those that were new and nice brands such as Kasper, VeraWang and Ruby Road. I was told some were out of season. I asked when I should. bring back those considered out of season and was then told Well, we don’t really have seasons. took my laundry basket and white plastic bag and left! When I got home I checked the white bag and noticed they could not possibly have looked at the clothing as the same 3 purses and 6 pair of shoes were still at the top of the bag with dress pants and blouses still stacked neatly at bottom! I will definitely be looking for other alternatives to this Clothes Mentor location! Clothes Mentor was a big disappointment.
