Bruce K.: Another lovely church off a main road in rural Georgia, this one has a marker that provides context and history. There is room to park. The church is lovely and the adjacent graveyard is historic. The marker reads, "In 1780 a group of people, Garrisons and Wilmonts, met on the top of the hill behind the church, built a platform between two trees, and held a religious meeting. This small gathering, and the statement that it was pleasant to worship on the mountain, led to the building of the first Mt. Pleasant Church, a log structure. The present one, built in 1883, is on land given by John Wilmont. A large wooden arbor with small cabins around, used until 1885, was erected on the church grounds for annual camp meetings. Many outstanding people have gone out from this church - teachers, doctors, preachers, merchants, bankers, nurses." It is marker number 006-7 and was erected in 1956 by the Georgia Historical Commission. Check it out!

Joellen OGallagher: What can I say about the Lord. THE WAY CHURCH in Winder is absolutely fantastic. Im Catholic. When I moved to Georgia I found it hard to find a church that I felt comfortable in. I went to several churches. I attended a Catholic church, and three Baptist churcs I just felt uncomfortable. It wasnt until I seen the Way church next to Walgreens in Winder by the Train Tracks. I took my two girls and we went in on Sunday. The made us feel so comfortable. Warm, welcoming. The Pastor there Steve Carroll is fantastic. Weve been going every week since. We go Thursday night and Sunday mornings. Theres also a Monday prayer service, a Tuesday night womens church abd a Friday night mens church. So theres always a day of the week for you if one night doesnt work. Go visit THE WAT CHURCH. Its a Non denominational church thats there for everyone. You wont be disappointed you went. Youll be disappointed you didnt go sooner. Hope to see you there. God bless you.
