  • What Clients Are Saying about Sweetwater Park - thomson (on GG)
5 /5 Carl Rathburn: I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. My group was there to play disc golf for the first time at that park and we were pleased.
3 /5 adi: 3 stars because of the exposed rust and rough sharp edges on the playground! On the other hand the walking track is maintained well and there are lots of softball/ baseball fields There is also a disc golf course here.
1 /5 Elly Jacobs: You can really tell that the people running the rec dept do not care about it at all. They are just letting it get more and more run down. And they wonder why they fo not have a lot of parents signing up their children for sports. Parents would rather drive to another county than cone here
3 /5 Shanon Kennedy: All 3 of my kids have been very active in all sports and i have been going to this park since i was a kid. However, more help is needed at the concession stand as well as change for a $20! I realize that help is volunteered but having children with bad attitudes or that dont know how to count money, work with the public is not a great idea.

Debra Prevatte: Interesting little museum, AC felt wonderful. Nice shaded nature trail. The short walk to the Fort isnt shady so the heat & humidity hits hard. Then the biting flies start attacking aka deer flies. Your pace will quicken lol. Great history stop. We enjoyed it.

Cannons Point Preserve
Adam Brumbaugh: Cannons Point Preserve is a beautiful and peaceful spot on the island, perfect for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike. We initially planned to explore the longer 4+ mile trail but opted for the shorter route instead, which led us to a unique squirrel’s-view lookout tower with a great vantage point. The preserve is full of towering live oaks, wildlife, and scenic marsh views, making it a great place to disconnect and enjoy the outdoors. Next time, we’ll definitely bring our bikes to fully experience the longer trail. Highly recommend for a quiet, off-the-beaten-path adventure!

Gators, Storks by the hundreds, Egrets and Comerants. All in a calming, peaceful, and natural silence. We found our "go too" spot
