  • Les Mains Nail Bar @ The Works - Atlanta
Lauren: I’ve been a loyal customer of Les Mains Nail Bar at The Works since January 2022. I regularly booked pedicures with Lewis and, for the last year or so, SNS manicures with Jenny. I always tipped at least 20%, arrived on time (if not early) for my bi-weekly 9:30 AM appointments, and was consistently kind and respectful to everyone. When I do get serviced, I’m quiet and low-maintenance—I put my headphones in and only speak to the techs to say thank you or compliment their work. I don’t communicate directly with them about appointments. That’s always handled through the front desk. This past Saturday, I had just gotten back from a vacation and called at 10:02 AM to book a manicure with Jenny. I was offered a 1:00 PM slot, which I accepted—even though I know they typically don’t book on the hour. They called me back at 11:59 AM and moved it to 1:30 PM, which I also accepted. I arrived at 1:34 PM but had trouble finding parking. As a pregnant woman, I need extra time to safely park and walk to the door. At 1:39 PM—just as I was walking in—I received a call from a front desk staffer I’d never seen before. She said Jenny canceled my appointment because she didn’t want to delay her schedule. I explained that I was flexible in shifting my time from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM and was in the parking lot within the grace period but had trouble finding parking. I was met with condescension. Another woman at the front said, “We don’t schedule appointments on the hour. I don’t know if that’s something you and Jenny arranged.” Again—I don’t speak to techs directly about scheduling. That’s handled by the front. When the owner offered to place me with another tech, I politely declined and decided to leave and simply reschedule for another day. On Monday at 5:59 PM, I called back to rebook with Jenny. At 7:36 (6 minutes after they closed), I received a voicemail telling me Jenny no longer wanted to service me due to “ongoing issues,” and that Lewis—someone I’ve always been warm and generous with—had also given negative feedback. These claims are completely false. I don’t interact with the techs beyond greeting them by name, thanking them, and tipping well. There have never been any “issues.” These are outright lies about me, and I’m convinced they may have mistaken me for someone else. I’ve referred friends here, been nothing but pleasant, and supported this business for over 3 years. To be treated this way, especially while pregnant, is deeply disappointing. They not only lost a loyal client—they disrespected her without cause.

Maira Suelen: 10/10 I can say that I finally found my place to get my nails done with my eyes closed. These professionals are great, they take care of the health of the nails. I think its been almost a year since I got my nails done there and I have zero regrets, which is why I came here to leave my review. In the photos you will see the excellent work. I dont have a photo of my toenails because I dont take photos of my feet. But Stephanie was my first experience, and she introduced me to my favorite color that I also recommend, Funny Bunny, I think this color is extremely elegant. I would like to thank and congratulate all the professionals who have already served me, among them, Stephanie, Wayne, Rose and D, thank you very much. And the entire team at Nails 1st, always very attentive and welcoming. I highly recommend it!!!

Dawonna Cotton: Lisa don’t care about making her customers satisfied.. she plays games with people money. But it won’t be my money.. this is how messy she left my nail after I told her I didn’t like the design no polish or nothing just nothing

Divine: (Edit: Your response to my professional (and rather kind considering how I was treated) critique proves your immaturity. You CHOOSE to charge me a fee that you apparently did not charge others who had similar bad experiences? That sounds extremely discriminatory and crude. Your quality of service is the reason why your business will remain "small".) To be completely frank I wasnt actually seen by the woman I booked, I assume her name is Sonia, and did end up having to cancel my appointment. My issue comes with the way I was regarded when I arrived. While she wasnt extremely rude she was condescending upon my realization that her establishment was not equipped for my needs and she assumed I was leaving when I needed to step out. She spoke as if I could not understand her perfectly fine. I would have considered staying had she not spoken to me that way.

Tamekia WI: I think I like this place. Advised that due to the nature of my job my nails break easily so asked that they layer the SNS thick. Well today is 3 weeks and I dont have any broken nails. If it wasnt for the growth I could go another week. Happy customer here.

Madison Scott: Absolutely love this nail place. If you want unique, trendy nail art then this is the place for you! I always get the coolest sets done and the pricing is really reasonable. My nails can’t sustain acrylics, so I always get gel on my natural nails. Hannah is my tech and manages to pull off amazing art despite not having a lot of length to work with. I love supporting local and I love supporting a woman owned business. You won’t be disappointed here!

Jessie Nealey: Hands down best pedicure! Didnt want any color just cleaned, shaped, cuticles and scrubbed! She did awesome work! Did do the $5 extra for the orange scrub! Massage was awesome. She took her time was not rushed at all! Definitely going back!

Grace Settel: I wish VN Nails was never sold to another company. I got a pedicure done with my mom and it was excellent. My mom and I both got full sets of acrylic. My nails lasted for three days. My mom’s nail tech didn’t speak fluent English and had to pull out Google Translate because he couldn’t understand what my mom wanted. He kept burning her with the file and laughed about it. Don’t make the same mistake we did! Choose a better salon than this.

Ashley Stanley: If I could give a zero I absolutely would! I go here because they always do great on my eyebrows. Its usually a last resort for my nails but I was running out of time before Vacation. I never have a good experience with them and I should have known better. But I thought, its just a manicure, what could go wrong. Well everything. The polish is everywhere. My child could have done a much better job! 2 of the nails have already chipped and this manicure is only 2 days old! This is my last chance with them. I tried to give them multiple chances, hoping they were just having a bad day, but turns out its just all around bad business.

Libbi Lombardo: I used to enjoy going here. But my last experience was awful. I came in with acrylic nails on, I asked for them to be removed and for a manicure. I understand removing acrylic nails can be a difficult process, but the lady, rather than being gentle with me and doing it correctly broke out an extremely heavy duty sander and sanded the glue off my nail to the point I feel as if she took my whole nail off. I jerked several times out of pain hoping she would get the point, since we had a language barrier. I was bleeding, my nail beds were red and splitting in half when I left. I told her it hurt and she just kept going at it with the electric sander rather than using a normal hand file where she could have been more gentle. My fingers have been In pain for days and splitting in half. She never even tried to buff them to make them smooth, nor shape them to prevent them from splitting more, and she didn’t even give me any sort of lotion or oil to help them heal. This has really ruined my week from being able to do normal activities because of how sore my fingers are. Keep in mind I am not the type of girl to get acrylic nails done often, this is the second time in my life I have had it done. So my natural nails were very strong, healthy and naturally pretty before, they definitely would have been okay after removing the acrylic if she had done it correctly. She didn’t care, she rushed, and she did the removal process incorrectly.
