*November 12th Review*: I originally booked an appointment at the salon for November 12th for Myeshia. Due to an accident on the road, it pushed my time back by 10 minutes and I called the salon to let them know Id be late. Mario answered and said it was ok and he would let her know. When I arrived Myeisha had still not arrived and after waiting for 15 minutes, Mario made time and room to accommodate me. He did a wonderful job on the rod set and I was happy with the end result. After a disappointment with another stylist, I thought I had found my salon home after moving to Augusta. SHN met my needs and I decided to make another appointment at a later time.
*December 24th Review*
A week and a half prior to Tuesday, December 24th, I made a hair appointment with Mario for 1pm for the above date. The appointment was accepted and confirmed on both ends.
I arrived at my appointment 15 minutes early and waited in the sitting area. I had to ask another customer if Mario was there and she said it was just Myeshia in the salon. Myeshia tried contacting Mario but he did not answer. She made it clear that she didnt want to do my hair because it was too thick (which she also stated previously after arriving to the salon on Nov 12). While I can appreciate honesty, it was very disheartning to know.
Myeshia asked if I wanted to find someone on my own or could she make some calls. She was able to find one other person to do my hair at the LAST MINUTE (I agreed to go this person but even then, my hair still did not get done). Before I left the salon, she apologized for the inconvenience but I told her it was not her apology to make considering it was not her fault and I was not her client.
Overall: I am upset and disappointed with the lack of communication from Mario. It is very unprofessional of a salon of this caliber to have these type of issues happen, especially at the last minute with no type of follow up.
It may be a holiday but the booking appointments were open and if he had plans or was not able to come in, that should have been shared early on through several means or he could have made accomodations with another stylist. I can understand and give grace for not feeling well if that was the case, but again, that should have been communicated.
Despite my initial experience, this action leaves a sour taste in my mouth and it gives leeway for me to know this could happen again and because of that; I will not be returning.
