2 /5 Maggie Zebrowski: I’ve been debating on leaving this review because I’ve never left anyone a bad review in my life. Working in the service industry myself, I am an extremely understanding person and customer. However, as the time for me being due for another service approaches, the more anxious I’ve become about the whole situation. I’ve been getting Brazilian waxes for 4.5 years and from the beginning, things were off.
Firstly, I booked an appointment last minute on a Saturday which was totally on me, and I’ll own that. I was given the last appointment of the day (I usually book the first morning slot but I waited too long, so no worries there). Upon arrival, the front desk was kind and attentive. My esthetician came to get me when she was ready, didn’t greet me or tell me her name, walked me back into the room and when I waited for her to leave for me to get changed she looked confused. She didn’t ever leave (granted, she was going to see those bits of me anyway but it’s common courtesy to step out when your guest is changing). So I strip my bottoms down in front of her and hop on the table. I let her know that I was a week and a half past my normal scheduled wax (4 weeks), and she probably mentioned 4 times how there was too much hair. Cool. I get it, that’s why I’m here. I’m also 6.5 months pregnant and it’s dead of summer so I was sweating, which she also kept telling me. I don’t like sugaring as my body has reacted worse when I had that done in the past, but she kept telling me that’s what I needed. Halfway through the service, there’s a knock on the door. Butterfly position naked on the table, she OPENED the door. There was a guest who showed up at the wrong location and front desk needed a translator as she didn’t speak English, which is understandable, but I didn’t expect her to leave in the middle of my appointment. I was stunned, and even more so when she left a strip of wax on me, left my appointment for a good 5 minutes to talk to another guest, and when she came back (obviously opening the door again) ripped the strip off which hurt worse as it had been sitting for some time. At that point I was beyond done, and when it came time to get dressed I knew that would also not be done with privacy, which it wasn’t. Wax was sticking to my underwear the rest of the day, as no product was used to remove the excess.
Again, I don’t leave negative reviews as I know how they can impact a person’s business. However, this was genuinely the worst customer service experience I’ve ever received in my life at any establishment. Maybe it was because I was the last appointment, but regardless none of this was acceptable to a fellow beauty industry worker or human being. If I go back to this business it will be at the other location. Did I get what I came for? Yes, I left hair free. Would I recommend this person to anyone? Absolutely never.
