06-2025 Pettit farms in Hight rate 9 location for tourist in Cartersville, GA, USAFitzgerald Blue & Gray Museum - Fitzgerald Charliegh Smith: Just got off the phone with the Director, Mr. Aaron Benefield, who is an absolute wealth of information about Fitzgerald and the South. He assisted masterfully in answering questions I needed to complete a school project. He is very knowledgeable, polite and generous with his time. I am so grateful that someone like Mr. Benefield is in charge of a beautiful place like the Blue & Gray. I know Mrs. Beth Davis would be proud. If ever in Fitzgerald, this is a must-see exhibit. Check out the new genealogy wing as well! Thank you, Mr. Benefield, for all your help!
The Allman Brothers Band Museum at The Big House - Macon Suzanne Copley: Wow! Just Wow. What an amazing celebration of the Allman Brothers and their life at the Big House. The upstairs section of the house made you feel they had just left and would be back in half an hour. The downstairs section was beautifully laid out to celebrate their lives, their music and their achievements. Mark and Richard were so knowledgeable that they made the house come alive. There was an added bonus when we visited, as Gilbert Lee the photographer who knew them and took many of their iconic photographs was there and shared with us some interesting tales from the day. 100% recommended.
Museum of Arts and Sciences - Macon Anna R: A very cool place to visit in Macon! Great for kids and adults. I especially love their unique art exhibits and the planetarium. The Full Dome Festival during the Macon Film Festival is a must see!
Cannonball House - Macon Atlanta Historic Dance: My friend, Ashleigh, and I attended an educational workshop here last Saturday. This house museum is beautiful and well maintained. Id love to come back again sometime and take the tour.
Hay House - Macon Kenisha Whitley: Beautiful. It was great to see the detail and work put into building the home and restoring it. The tour guide was wonderful. So knowledgeable. She could answer every question with ease and made us feel comfortable. It was also nice to learn the history of the city. Definitely worth experiencing
Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park - Macon Ian Michael Rogers: An oasis of history and nature just outside Macon! The park is beautifully maintained, with easy parking and a peaceful atmosphere. The small museum and gift shop are great, and the Park Rangers are friendly and knowledgeable. A wonderful place to explore—can’t wait to see it become a full National Park!
Amerson River Park - Macon B: This is generally a clean park although there were a couple places where other people were smoking marijuana, which was not enjoyable to walk through. There are pavilions and overlooks here and plenty of space to hang out or walk or jog. There are a lot of memorials here where people drowned in the river so be super careful of the water here
Coleman Hill Park - Macon Amber Skiles: The open space makes for wonderful views of downtown Macons skyline and has always been a favorite of mine for viewing the city. The accessibility and availability for use is also great for use by the community. Love the FREE (please donate) full moon yoga classes. Shout out to the volunteer instructors!!!
Tattnall Square Park - Macon Simone Payne: Lovely Park to enjoy a great time with your family and friends. The location is perfect. The Park is clean and amazingly beautiful. Sometimes have a festival and food truck. Check the agenda locally. You will have a lot of fun and enjoy the beautiful, and relaxed Park.
