5 /5 Amber Skiles: The open space makes for wonderful views of downtown Macons skyline and has always been a favorite of mine for viewing the city. The accessibility and availability for use is also great for use by the community. Love the FREE (please donate) full moon yoga classes. Shout out to the volunteer instructors!!!

5 /5 Marvin Harris: Its a nice place to sit and have a picnic or a causal peacefully date in the early or late hours of the day. Beautiful view of the whole city. For workout enthsiasit run up the hill. Itll get you in shape thats for sure.

I wish we could look up and stargaze, too, but light pollution wont let the night sky fully shine. *** UPDATE May 24, 2021 *** An early morning sunrise is absolutely stunning and worth waking up to observe.

5 /5 Bruce K.: One of the lovelier spots in Macon, this large squarish-shaped park is great for a fabulous view of the city. Surrounded by beautiful homes including the Johnston-Felton Hay House, the park is a great place to picnic. There are outdoor concerts here, permanent art installations and a number of memorials to past military and a famous politician. One special feature is the slide which is probably really nice some times but today was a little filled with trash. And no, this isnt the cardboard pieces that help you have an enjoyable ride. You do need something to reduce the friction or its not much of a "slide" after the trash is gone. There are some picnic tables and grills. Its very nice. Do be aware of the "residentially challenged" who didnt bother me during the daytime. There is street parking all around.
