Montezuma Bluffs Nature Area - Oglethorpe (GA)

3 /5 DeAnn Dent: Very neat place to put in your kayak/canoe. Amazing sight: The golden silk (orb weavers) spiders were so plentiful when we were there that we ended up trying to count them. We counted over 100 on only one side, of the boat ramp lane. They lined the road along and all the way to the boat ramp, on both sides and were hanging from trees as far into the woods as we could see. They are camouflaged very well. We left them to their habitat. Interesting sight to see.

5 /5 Calamity Jane: I had a lovely afternoon hike on the trail. I spotted blue phlox, cutleaf toothwarts, heartleaf, mottled trillium, relict trillium & yellow jasmine. I also saw a red flower I was not able to identify. I posted my flower pix in the photo section. Can anyone help me identify the red flower?

5 /5 Nathan Klaus: Beautiful place to see spring wildflowers, nice for winter hikes too if the river isnt up. 2023 update-the DNR has put a lot of work into redoing the hiking trail, updating the kiosk and cleaning up illegal dumping. Its looking really nice!

3 /5 Anne Henry: Looks like a great place for boaters and kayaking. I wish there was a nice sitting area to just enjoy the water and let my dog play.
