5 /5 William Hawkins: This is a unique and neglected gem. It has direct appeal to several kinds of people. Lovers of art, Elvis, and fine American houses circa 1908 will find much to ponder. You enter the house, once inexplicably slated for destruction, via an inviting wrap-around porch. One is greeted by a lovely stairway and a hallway leading to a room where relics from the houses history make for interesting viewing. The highlight of the house is probably the upstairs museum dedicated wholly to the collection and assembly of art, memorabilia, and other oddities relating to the life of Elvis Presley. His music fills the air while one inspects the maybe Elvis toenail and the wart of the King acquired by Joni in one of her many visits to Memphis. I would urge anyone interested in southern culture, old houses, ways of life long gone, and Elvis to take in the wonder that is the Loudermilk Boarding House and Everything Elvis Museum.
