If you rent a kayak or paddle board from Sandy Creek Park, which puts you into the lake next to the public beach, once you paddle past that area toward the north, away from the beach and where most others don’t paddle, only the sounds of the lake and the woods surrounds you for a peaceful journey on the lake.

I wanted to move to Athens just on the strength of how awesome the park is. While it was raining and cold yesterday 2/20/19. I still enjoyed it. I cant imagine how beautiful it will be in spring and summer. An all year round experience ❤
