1 /5 Author Tinzley Bradford: If you don’t have long, healthy hair, do not go here. They seem to mistreat people with a certain texture of hair and breakage. I have been under a bit of stress last few months, and unfortunately, my stress shows up in my appearance, in this case my scalp. My hair was pretty damaged, but it was not something that could not have been worked around. I’ve been in this same predicament before and the stylist was able to save quite a bit of my hair because she cared about my feelings and she respected me as a client.. This lady, Naomi, clearly mistreated me and purposely tried to humiliate me, in my opinion she discriminated against me based on the appearance of my hair. She CLEARLY did not care at all and made a joke of this entire thing. She was loud, rude, dismissive, made a scene and then after she suggested I allow her to cut my hair in a short style to so called restart new hair growth, she cut all my hair off in no specific style at all, it looked like a man’s hair cut with no line up or shape and she charged me thirty five dollars for that hair cut. She charged me twenty five dollars for a deep conditioner only to whack all my hair off and didn’t even try to make it look appealing. While I was there, another lady asked her what kind of music I liked and she answered on my behalf and immediately said “Rap!” This was unacceptable! During this encounter, I don’t have physical proof, but it looked as if one of the other stylists was recording me as I sat there being completely humiliated. This type of behavior is unfair and can perpetuate harmful biases. Everyone deserves respect and inclusion, regardless of their hairstyle or hair condition. I will NEVER allow myself to go somewhere to be treated such as this and will NEVER spend my money with them ever again!
