  • Dawson Forest Wildlife Management Area -
Matthew Fugel: Beautiful area, but pick up your trash. Keep Georgia beautiful forever. If you fish, camp, or just visit - take everything you brought with you, and leave no trace.
Veterans Memorial Park - dawsonville - Dawsonville
Mary Ellen Severance: Visiting from out of town and stopped by here to walk the dog. Nice walking path and felt very safe. Nice dog park also, very big. Highly recommend.
Dawson Forest - City of Atlanta Tract -
Nick Adams: The Dawson Forest is a great place for outdoor adventures like kayaking, hiking, fishing, hunting, camping and more. I’ve kayaked the Etowah River with the Georgia Kayak Fishing Club. Check out the group on FB for more trips. Amazing experience with great friends! Side notes, don’t trash this place. If you pack it in, pack it out. Always wear a life jacket on the river.
Amicalola Falls State Park - Dawsonville
C W: We havent been here in ages and a lot has changed! Beautiful visitors center and walkway. Its so nice not having to backtrack on the stairs. My best advice us to get there early. Even for early Spring, it was really crowded. The falls were running pretty good. It brought back memories of droppint my father-in-law and mother-in-law off as they set out on the first leg of their journey to Katahdin many year ago. Be careful of the erosion, which has exposed a lot of roots. We took the trail to the top, and we saw a chasm. Im guessing it was a result of all the rain from the hurricanes last fall. They must have seen a lot more rain than we got in our area. The a nice spot to have a little picnic near the lake or the top. Great place to take the kids to burn off some energy.
Georgia Racing Hall of Fame - Dawsonville
Robert Quinn: Worth the visit! Cool stories, cars and memorabilia. Fun chatting with the guys that work there.
    Thompson Creek Park - Dawsonville
Daniel Greco: Rented the pavilion here for a birthday party. It has 6 large tables. It is set back from the parking lot and has a trail down to the water. We did have to contend with a large group of people standing nearby talking loudly. Two of the group showed up thinking they would use the pavilion until I mentioned that we had rented it. Outside of them being quite loud and standing nearby it worked well for us. The restrooms are a different story. You will want to bring your own soap, toilet Paper, paper towel and cleaning wipes if you plan on going to the bathroom. If there was a breakdown of areas to score I would give them a Zero. My eyes burned in the mens room from the smell of urine.
    Consolidated Gold Mine - Dahlonega
Kris V: WOW! This place is incredible. We took the 1 hour drive over from Blue Ridge, GA and got there at around 3:30pm. We were there in time for the 4:20pm tour and did not regret driving over. Let me tell you. The tour guide (Emily or Amy or other lol I forgot her name) was so "punny" and knowledgeable. I will say to bring a sweater because it is about 55-60 degrees down there. We spent almost twice the time at the gift shop looking over various minerals and jewelry and gems. Lisa was so friendly and informative, she really made our experience extra special. We got a chance to meet the owner as well and he was just as humble and kind as everyone else. This is one experience Im looking forward to doing again and again. Theyre also about to expand the mine and open some areas that were previously closed off. This means we will be back soon! Cant wait! What a cool piece of history here in Georgia!
Amicalola Falls State Park & Lodge - Dawsonville
Alana Bass: Nice lodge, beautiful location, plenty to do at and within a half hour of the property. Lovely hikes to the waterfall…but lots of steps. Not too far from several wineries and cute little towns with great restaurants. A great long weekend getaway for couples or families.
    Dahlonega Gold Museum - Dahlonega
Richard Smith: I was looking for a new destination for a Christmas day trip. I saw a Facebook post about Dahlonega and learned there were 3 Hallmark movies here. Since my wife is an avid Hallmark fan, that sealed the deal. The town square is only about 8 blocks built around the gold museum/city hall (which was closed that day). Once the sun set, the place became magical. We walked the town square and enjoyed the shops. Well definitely visit again.
Uncle Shucks Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch - Dawsonville
Uncle Shucks Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch

The corn maze is creatively designed and challenging enough to keep visitors engaged as they navigate twists and turns. Each year brings a new maze design, adding excitement for returning guests. In addition to the maze, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy, including hayrides, a pumpkin patch, and a fun corn cannon.
