2 /5 Taylor Baltrus: I went as I am new to the area and am trying to find my new home church. I liked the facility and the worship. However, on this particular day, the pastor stopped in the middle of the sermon to tell a woman, over the microphone in front of everyone, that her kids were a distraction and that they needed to go to a different room and “if they settled down they could come back in.” The kids in question were behaving just fine, in my opinion. Personally, I found it more distracting that the pastor himself called her out publicly in front of everyone. I could only imagine her embarrassment. It could’ve been handled in a much better way, either after the service, or a deacon/staff member quietly talking to her. It most definitely did not need to be over the microphone in front of everyone. I liked it at first, but this incident quickly made me decide I will not be returning for a second visit. I could not even focus on the message for the rest of the time because I was so appalled at the situation and how it was handled. Overall, I just found it very unprofessional of him as a pastor.
