Ashley Brandom: Beautiful place, full of whimsy and charm! The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a very relaxed atmosphere and even the other visitors were polite. I cannot express how beautiful the views were. There is so much craftsmanship and details, both old and new, in the trails and caves. Would definitely recommend!
Angelina J: Nice place to enjoy the afternoon. The church was closed but we were able to walk around it. Bring a picnic. There is a Pavillion, soda machine and bathroom at the playground next door. Walk up the hill to an old graveyard behind the church. Great place to walk the dog. Perfect place to take the kids.
Danielle DeSimone: This is a lovely trail. Not crowded. This morning part of the white trail is flooded and I wouldn’t recommend trying to pass it. The current looks strong. This was on the far end by the bat caves.
Marnille Orencio: A Nostalgic Park That Desperately Needs Care
As a first-time visitor, I was really excited to check out Lake Winnie, especially knowing it was once a beloved amusement park with so much history. But sadly, my experience left me feeling disappointed.
You can tell the park probably had its glory days before the 90s, but now it feels like it’s been frozen in time and forgotten. The rides and equipment look outdated and not well-maintained, and the overall cleanliness of the park is lacking. It’s disheartening to see a place that likely brought joy to so many now in this condition.
Of course, this is just my personal experience as a first-timer, and I truly hate to say this, but if things don’t change, I honestly don’t see this park lasting another 10 years. It needs serious attention — but there’s still hope.
They could start making changes today, little by little, and with real effort, they might revive the charm and win back customers. I genuinely hope they do.
Allie A: You almost need to spend the whole day here to really cover everything! The staff was very informative, and the national park app has audio tours. Even though this was a place where so many lost their lives, its a peaceful place to visit.
Grim_lens: My partner and I recently visited Mother Goose Village, and it was truly a magical experience. Having fond memories of this place from childhood, I was thrilled to see that it still holds the same charm and wonder after all these years.
From the moment we arrived, it was like stepping into a nostalgic fairytale. Every corner of the village was beautifully maintained, with vibrant colors, whimsical details, and a sense of enchantment that made us feel like kids again. The attention to detail in the displays and storytelling elements brought back so many cherished memories.
One of the best things about Mother Goose Village is how well-kept it remains. Even after all this time, the village still feels alive and full of magic. It’s clear that a lot of love and care goes into preserving its charm, making it just as delightful for new visitors as it is for those returning from childhood.
Overall, our visit was an absolute joy. Whether youre reliving childhood memories or experiencing it for the first time, Mother Goose Village is a must-visit destination. I’m so glad we got to see it again—it remains a wonderful, timeless treasure.
