1 /5 Tia Michelle: If I could put less than 1 star I absolutely would. The staff was very nice but I’ve had the most traumatic experience of my life with the dentist Stephen Byrd. Very unprofessional, his hands shake so much I’m very surprised that he is even still practicing. My husband and son were seen previously to my extraction appointment and their experience was fine. Mine on the other hand was a complete and utter nightmare. Once Dr. Byrd administered the local anesthetic he let me wait for about 15 min and then came in by himself to do the extraction. He was very shakey as I mentioned previously and was having a hard time extracting my tooth number 2, he ended up calling in one of his assistants to help him suction. Once she came in and started helping she told me I needed to open my mouth wider. I simply said I am and she told me not to yell at her and then Dr. Byrd proceeded to tell me not to speak to his staff that way and if I talked back to him he would “Throw my ass out of the chair” I stayed quiet and let them finish which was causing me a lot of pain and started crying from the pain he was applying to my lower jaw and from the way he spoke to me just from saying “I am” when being told to open my mouth wider. He then finished and the assistant put gauze in my mouth and they left out of the room. I was left there crying, another assistant came in and he asked me if I was ok and I told him no I wasn’t. I’ve had the most horrible and traumatic experience of my life and it was not my first time having an extraction. I looked at the tray in front of of me with all the discarded tools and I noticed a whole tooth. I went in to have a tooth that was broken extracted. He ended up extracting 2 of my teeth and I was only there to have one extracted and never even bothered to let me know anything. I also looked at my face and from all the pressure he was applying with his tools he cut the right side of my mouth and bottom of my lip with his instruments. After I left another client who was there said she had heard everything and gave me her information in case I needed to contact her for anything. My extraction was done on 3/12/2025 and I was in excruciating pain. I woke up the next morning on 3/13/2025 with the whole right side of my face red and swollen. I have tried ice packs as suggested and taken the pain medication which has barely helped in any way. I haven’t been able to eat or sleep since I was seen. I contacted another dentist because I refuse to let this vile man anywhere near me again. They told me they unfortunately can’t help due to their dentist being out due to medical emergency but that I should go to the er to seek further treatment because by the sound of it I have a severe infection going on. I went thinking that I was going to receive relief for the pain of a broken tooth to now having 2 teeth removed and more pain and agony than I can hardly handle. Do not go to this dentist!!!!!!!!!!!
