The Ridges Resort on Lake Chatuge - Hiawassee (GA)

5 /5 Ghazal Safaei: This hotel is absolutely stunning! Everything was so clean and cozy, and the moment we walked in, it felt welcoming and warm. The space smelled amazing, and you could tell so much care goes into making guests feel comfortable. Everyone on staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. The views are breathtaking — honestly, it felt like stepping into a Hallmark movie. I left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. I would definitely stay here again and can’t recommend it enough!

2 /5 Jacqui Martinez: I expected more based on the previous photos & reviews from others. The lobby area is super nice, but I was underwhelmed by the rooms. Musty smell that lasted the entire time. Outdated. In the 2 bed rooms, the AC unit blows directly on the closest bed. Maintenance came in twice while I was not present, they unplugged the refrigerator and my medicine and food went bad. There wasnt efficient flow of the room or anywhere to hang your towel, or shower caddy. The rooms need updated. ABSOLUTELY NO LAUNDRY ON-SITE. Pros: free parking, views, walkable dining area.

1 /5 wendy Joseph: This "resort" is listed on google maps as a 4-star hotel. I am here to tell you that this is a 2.5 star at BEST. The view of the lake was nice, but how you could possibly enjoy it is beyond me as the sliding doors are filthy, the deck paint is peeling and covered with thick spider webs, the curtains were close to impossible to pull back, and when we did get them back, there was trash on the floor. The patio furniture was broken. There were spiders in the room. There was a musty smell that was present for the 2 days we were there. When we requested maid service, she brought towels but did not make the bed! The bed was listed as a pillow top, but it was hard and gave my husband and I both a sore back and neck. The redeeming feature is the common areas are very nice, the smores at night were fun, and the restaurant there is first class. Our food was delicious and the staff was really great. Down side of their restaurant is the bathroom toilets had pink rings in the bowl - thats how long since theyd been cleaned! Their cleaning staff is beyond horrible.

3 /5 Cassie Kolbenschlag: Location is beautiful. The lobby had great views of the lake, as did the restaurant. The room itself was clean; however the coffee maker was disgusting and dusty so we had to go to the lobby and buy coffee. We were disappointed in our check in experience and with the communication from the front desk. We arrived at 4 for check in and our room was not ready, and she said it would be 5-10 minutes. I checked back and it was still not ready. Over 30 minutes passed and the front desk person was avoiding eye contact and would only attend to other guests. We did eventually get our room however considering they charge for late check outs, we should have received a discount for a late check in since it was their fault for not being prepared. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was very nice. The bed was rather firm, so if you like firm this one may be for you!

5 /5 Thomas Alexander: This was a very random choice for places to stay and we were very happy with our visit! The property is a little dated but was very clean and comfortable. We ate at the Oaks by a recommendation from the front desk. It was wonderful. We sat at the bar and Diane was our bartender and server. She was engaging, and very warm and welcoming. The food was delicious! We highly recommend this resort and restaurant.
