2 /5 Que The Traveler: My experience at The Dining Experience wasn’t what it was hyped up to be by Keith Lee. I ordered the Dining French Toast platter while my wife had the Catfish platter. The French toast was very basic, maybe a 5 out of 10, and the grits were honestly disappointing—over-seasoned when all they really needed was just a little salt and pepper. The catfish itself was good, but the sides didn’t live up to the hype. On top of that, they ran out of shell eggs, and the biscuit was so hard it was almost inedible.
I did like the medieval theme—it gives the restaurant a unique atmosphere—but the bar doesn’t match the concept at all, which makes it feel incomplete. Our server was polite but lacked knowledge about the menu, which made it frustrating when we had questions about the food. Sean, the manager, was very kind and did her best to address the issues we had, but unfortunately the overall experience still left us not wanting to return.
Overall, the experience fell short of expectations. The idea is creative and has potential, but the execution needs serious improvement when it comes to food quality, consistency, and staff training. For now, I’d rate The Dining Experience a 4 out of 10.
