3 /5 Jason in Georgia: Crushed Tomato is a gorgeous location in a well preserved, historic building. They know, tell and honor the history.
The atmosphere and service are excellent.
And for "sit down" pizza not from a franchise recipe, prices are fair and staff is terrific.
Issue today was ordering a four topping pizza with almost nothing on it. This is not cheap pizza, nor is it terribly expensive. As example, mine had pepperoni, mushroom, green pepper and bacon. Or ideally it would have.
I was really surprised at this sparse, large pizza so I counted a slice purely out of curiosity. One piece of green pepper, one mushroom, two pepperoni and a dusting of bacon which was imperceptible.
I get it, groceries are expensive. This is not how to economize on a $25.00 pizza.
Would I return? Absolutely.
This was noticeable, and borderline rude.
I hope this was an anomaly. Raise the price a dollar or two, but do put toppings on pizza.
