1 /5 daniel wetherbee: Well, I have eating there before and enjoyed it, but had a terrible experience this past weekend. First I called at 8:03 on Friday and they were closed, on saturday I called at 7:30 and placed an order and was told to be there by 8 to get my food. Got there at 8 paid for my meal and at 8:30 I was still waiting. I ask about the meal and was TOLD rudely: IF YOU WANT FAST FOOD GO TO MCDONALDS!! I walked away and waited then the owner came and gave us our food and wanted to put his finger in our face, threatened us. Ive ordered my food at 7:30 and after waiting for about 45 minutes was told that they didnt have what weve ordered and they only had fries to go with it. Hes lucky we did not get out of the car. And to add injury to insult I purchased a 4 piece catfish, they were2 catfish cut in half to make it a 4 piece meal ??????? at $20!!!! they could pass as sardines! beware of this place! Mcdonalds would have been better, and that is a bold statement for someone that does not eat mcdonalds!!!! Daniel Wetherbee

5 /5 Riley Alewine: If you’re ever driving thru Newton, this is a must try! I would come back to Newton just for their food. The shrimp is seasoned to perfection! I typically don’t eat hush puppies, but I wanted to try theirs and they are delicious!!! Although they are not labeled fast food, you place your order at the window & they bring it to your car promptly. They’re very friendly & the food is worth every penny. Huge thank you to The Catfish Shack, I will be back!!!

2 /5 Jesi Rios: I must say for a place my sisters and I grew up in (Baker County) this place was a disappointment. I ordered chicken tenders and fries, my husband had a fish sandwich and onion rings. Next door used to be Catfish Carols and OMG!, it was the best in GA. The Catfish Shack seems steep in prices for service that is mediocre friendly and the food not interesting. The tenders were so small they would make a two year old mad. The tenders were smaller than a wing piece, and cooked in old oil; a burnt color and flavor saturated the entirety of the tenders. The fries were small in amount and tasted like the inside of a freezer. My husband was not fond of the fish sandwich except for the crunch and flaky-ness; those were his favorite characteristics. The onion rings were few, and the band width was too thick for the batter. We also took the liberty to order a sweet tea. It was perfectly brewed, iced, and sweetened. For my hometown, this place was disappointing, but shows potential for improvement. Other than sweet tea, my husband and I do not recommend the food.
