4 /5 D. Tee: I recently visited Red Lobster in Douglasville with my parents. Our waitress, Janiya, was friendly, and always smiling, which made the meal more enjoyable from the start.
We kicked things off with appetizers, and my dad raved about the crab queso, he couldn’t get enough! The chips to crab-cheese ratio needs to be re-evaluated, little bowl and big basket of chips dont really balance out. My mom enjoyed the bread ball they serve (think Olive Garden breadsticks, but round and dangerously addictive), sneaking bites while claiming she was “saving room for the main course.” I had the clam chowder, which was creamy and comforting, followed by the lobster and shrimp linguine. I love flavorful food, but it leaned a bit heavy on the salter side for my taste, but thankfully, a little Tabasco and my Arnold Palmer saved the day!
My dad’s Mahi was cooked well, though the portion felt a bit small. My mom’s salmon with potato was also a touch salty. While the food was fine, these small details combined with the price left us feeling a little “meh”, full, but not exactly wowed.
That said, the service was definitely a highlight. Our waitress made sure we had everything we needed, and the restaurant was clean and welcoming. The menu has a good variety of seafood, so there’s something for everyone.
Overall, it was an okay meal with great service, but personally, we won’t be rushing back. If you enjoy boldly seasoned seafood and don’t mind paying a premium, you may have a different experience, just bring your Arnold Palmer (and maybe some Tabasco) to save the day!
