1 /5 Britt Cole: I visited Outback Steakhouse on 12/23/25 to celebrate my birthday, and the experience was highly disappointing and honestly embarrassing. Despite calling ahead and having a reservation, we waited an unreasonably long time to be seated. When I asked the girls at the front desk for an update, I was told they were “waiting on a server” and “in the middle of a shift change,” delivered with an attitude—as if it was my fault they seated guests without adequate staffing.
To make matters worse, I overheard one waitress ask another employee about seating, only to be met with, “I’m not sure, that ain’t my area and I really don’t care.” The lack of professionalism and poor attitudes from the younger staff at the front were shocking and unwelcoming. The only bright spot was our Asian server, who was a breath of fresh air. She was pleasant, professional, attentive, and genuinely kind. She completely changed the tone of the experience once she came to the table and even surprised me with a complimentary birthday dessert. She deserves recognition for excellent service. Unfortunately, the food was another major letdown. Every plate at our table contained more fatty pieces than actual meat, which is unacceptable given the price point.
My family and I spent over $300 on what turned out to be a very poor dining experience. I regret choosing Outback to celebrate my birthday and will not be returning. I will also be contacting corporate regarding this visit.
Outback can—and should—do better.
